What happened was, Jiang Yuyuan failed at the qualifying vaults, and vaulting happened to be the 1st event of the team finals for China; the coaches were considering putting Linlin up. Linlin: Up till the competing night, the list could still be edited. Anyone could be replaced within that 24 hours. Deng Linlin is so adorable. She is kinda shy, unlike her teammate Jiang Yuyuan who is hyperactive and likes to talk. I like how she stuck that landing on the vault in the Beijing olympics like she done it a thousand times! She also squat more than I do in the gym! LoL. I agree, tea. Being only 16, Linlin will grow a few inches more. But I hope she doesn't grow too much, as she would have the weight problem like Fei's having now. And yes, speaking as an layperson, I believe Linlin will be a strong AA contender.

#7 accomplished the sudden and highly challenging task. Next, Linlin perfectly completed her BB routine and earned the high score of 15.925. At her 3rd match, she executed beautifully and got 15.150 for the FX. At the end, the Chinese team won with a total score of 188.900, and with Linlin's stable performances, she contributed 46.325 of it; just short of team captain, Fei's 46.600. Well yes, she did say that she prefers the beam and vault. I believe that she will improve on her tumbles; she is mentally very strong.

she would most probably be attending but it would still depend on her performance for the up coming years. if she is able to perform as well as 2009 she would be able to represent china. however its seldom that gymnasts are able to represent china for olympics more than once. as can be seen from 2008's example. the only senior member is ChengFei. #6 the event, I was so excited moving about at the back of the arena. In the last minutes, Yuyuan had not adjusted her state of mind, thus the coaches had Linlin to compete. Linlin: I was mentally prepared to take it on. When I was assigned that task, I just did it. I was so charged up, my sprint felt so powerful. And I stuck it. I had never stuck that vault since I learned it, but that night I stuck it. Summoned at the crucial moment, and mission accomplished. Linlin earned 15.250 and

i would say she already is a very strong all-arounder, having qualified 6th for the AA final. she wasn't in it only because of the 2 per country rule.

She must be around 4'7'' currently; accordingly to a report, she's grown about an inch since the Olympics. She's now 17, yeah I agree that she's unlikely to grow pass 5'. Wow :)
