'Denial' is a historical drama film directed by Mick Jackson, based on Deborah Lipstadt's book about the 'Irving v Penguin Books Ltd' case when the Holocaust scholar was sued by Holocaust denier David Irving for libel. Wondered if anyone would dare defend Irving after this thorough (and realistically portrayed) drubbing. How silly of me-what’s a little more unpalatable truth when you’re eyeball-deep in it? And I thought Timothy Spall was terrific-it takes courage to go into your career knowing you’ll be a character actor, but he’s laughed all the way to the bank.

I usually like Tim Spall but his portrayal of Irving was way off in this one. Didn't get anywhere near a convincing facsimile of Irvings accent, mannerisms, presence or... "vibe"... Piss poor pantomime villain. 1/10.
