Denied Entry into Vietnam! (Cambodia to Vietnam)

Since arriving in Singapore 6 months ago, we made a goal of going from singapore, all the way to Vietnam without taking a flight. The reason we wanted to do this was to save money on flights and to also explore and travel the lesser known places. However, right before we able to complete our goal with the mission of crossing from Cambodia into Vietnam, at the Ha Tien border, we were denied entry into Vietnam.
We have never had an issue entering a country and we definitely thought that Vietnam would probably be the easiest country to get into due to is mass tourist infrastructure, but we were wrong. Apparently, Vietnam does not issue visa's at borders and told us that it will take about a week to get one if applying for one online. This meant that we were now stranded at the border between Vietnam and Cambodia.
Lets just say that the universe is definitely making us work in order to make our goal a reality. Oh, this is also one of the most unique border crossings we have ever done. Clearly we are always up for one massive adventure :)

at 21:30 , that line you stepped over was NOT the border into Vietnam... It is a stop line for vehicle inspections.... the actual border between Vietnam and Cambodia is almost immediately after you pass through the Cambodia immigration station.... you can see the security fence and ditch either side of the road as you pass through..

Oops!! Only the airports have visa on arrival!! I did it backwards from you and wasted time getting a visa when I flew there!! So many different visa rules it is easy to make a mistake. Happy Travels and Happy Holidays

Ohh I was shocked which border that was so reading the discription and I realised you are down south for whatever reason. Not sure its worth it going there, Im planning to cross at Moc Bai Border Station straight to Ho Chi Minh as a first city to visit. Hopefully they got visa on arrival there.
