There's now a better option for keeping the waistband in place: Create a circumference measurement on the avatar at your desired belt height (top edge of the waistband) and then navigate to "Avatar -> Measurement -> Attach to Measure" Using this you can attach the waistband to a circumference measure line. Thanks for this tutorial! It helped me immensely :)

The 2D pattern should not change. If you select the segment in the 2D window with the Edit Pattern Tool you can see that in the 3D window the measurement may change based on the FABRIC you are using.

Clo3d is for Reallife Sewing. You can add seam allowances and grade the pattern for different sizes, layout the pieces for the cutting and send them to a plotter.

You can make patterns directly within CLO from scratch or you can import an ASTM/AAMA dxf, AI, or PDF, to use patters created in other programs. All 3D designs made in CLO are the result of pattern shapes, but anyone can use CLO from a beginner to an experienced pattern drafter. Hope that helps answer your question. We have a beginners guide series that is meant to get people of all levels started using CLO. Baselines are just markings on the pattern, as if you draw on a paper pattern. Internal lines are used to cut and/or sew.
