I knew that denis was just too strong for Devon but so many didn't believe it.

It's not like you were the proof or the authority on the subject. You're going based solely on what you thought or felt. That said, he was too strong in the hand for Devon right now. That doesn't mean it always would have, or will be that way. Devon clearly didn't have the stopping power from, say, 2012. Even Brzenk said on a podcast after the match that, had Devon gotten a stop, he doesn't think Denis could have pinned him. Even when they played around, if Denis let it go any more than 8 seconds or so, he couldn't do anything with it. Devon just didn't have the top-end power on this day to stop Denis. Clearly Denis was more dominant for now. Clearly he's the #1 lefty at the moment (RIP Pushkar; get well Oleg!). But Devon will go back to work. Keep in mind, he just started pulling super-heavyweight again in 2018 after 4 years at a lighter weight and following surgery. There's also Levan and a healthy Bagent out there.

Erron Black Unfortunately, one size doesn’t fit all. John is the all time best of the best who seemed to age awesomely and continued to dominate up until 50 years old. Like a good Porto, John only got better as he aged. Most elite athletes start to taper off by 35 and some of the more fortunate ones (with great genetic makeup) make it to 40, but that is the exception and by far not the norm. I believe Matt Mask said something similar that this battle should have taken place years ago and most likely would have evened the playing field considerably.

He said it himself, he wanted to test himself if he can dominate everyone with just power but since he couldn't do it twice with Brzenk he finally decided to learn the technical side of armwrestling and boy did it show... just a year later he started dominating Brzenk and everyone else on his way

Strength is everything simlply as that, you can have all the skills and techniques but at the end of the day strenght is the most important factor. Do you image Denis tendon size?
