This has to be the best of the stories. God Bless him, his son, and you for telling us this story. I bet he played that for his son.

Beautiful. I went through a similar thing once myself, grieving on the bandstand.

Thanks for the story. Was that gig perhaps in Tri-Cities, Washington in 1984 backed by the CBC band under Dave Barduhn?

Thanks a lot for sharing. I always wondered about that whole thing in his life, but never wanted to pry. I know as much as I think I should, and I'm content with that much. Thanks again.

I knew Bentley from Ventura College, but i knew him as Doug. We were in jazz band " A " together. It was a sad day when i heard what had happened. A very sad day indeed. maybe some day some one will post that evening of music here on YT.

Hey, Denis. Did Maynard ever tell the story of when he was blindfolded, handcuffed, and robbed at gunpoint at a Manhattan Hotel? I believe it was in the early 1970's.

Mr. DiBlasio, hello! I was wondering if it's possible by special request for you to do a story time about me. My name is Talib Bond, and I was the main drummer in Tim Kelehers Carusi Junior Schools' 3 o' clock Jazz Band. It was the Rowan Jazz Festival around 1997 or 1998. I think we played A Night In Tunisia, Spain, Half the Fun, etc, but I'm not sure. don't remember exactly why, but you were impressed by me, and invited me to sit in with you and your clinic band, and we played Take the A Train. Do you remember me? I have more recent videos of me if you're interested. Just tell me where to send them. I think it would be awesome if you made a quick cool storytime for me please. Get back to me and God bless you 🙏.

Some of us heard rumors about this solo, but have never heard it. Who has the tape? Let's hear it. Thanks.

Specifically, MF Road Story 30 by DDB www.tapatalk.com/groups/maynardfergusonboard/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1734&p=23550 , but that doesn't mention existence of a tape.
