Thanks for the footage, man. as always. Shapovalov is also a pleasure to watch, with his perfect coordination, especially how he generates immense power from kicking the ground and rotating/jumping. Quite different from other players who display perfect coordination themselves, such as Federer, whose form is rather still and stationary (not jumping or rotating 180 degrees like Shapo), thereby securing more control and balance, I guess.

@TheFedHD i'm not jealous a bit. he is one of most powerful player i've seen. his footwork is quite unstable, so he relies on these frequently slight jumping to produce more power to hit the ball, every time, and that's already quite heavy in practice in long run. in other way, speak of ball hitting, his grip is like djokovic who has got an issue in the elbow, and there're some problems i still can mention with, like shoulder rotation, bended knees, high tension on the left heel, ball watching... you can totally see his spine is very twist and lean, so just make it short, his technics are very off to me, i am very sure 'cuz i was a lefty single backhanded and had made most of mistakes i just say about. oh, maybe you're right about one thing, i do jealous he has physiotherapists, so I bring these injures back and quit early.

The issue no one is talking about is that he's a tad late on his forehand. He's letting the ball get a little too close to him before he hits it. He's extending the arm, but the ball is getting beyond his hand, causing him to hit it late. If he'd hit a little further out in front of him, I think he'll be pretty solid. Backhand is looking great imo.
@seaneckhart99144 жыл бұрын
His forehand could be a little more compact. Very nice backhand though
