Hello...I'm a Canadian trombonist (Bach 42b tenor) who was personally recommended by Denis Wick himself (in an email) to try his 6BL large-bore mouthpiece. This mouthpiece has worked out fine for me (i.e., better than a Bach 5g that I had tried recently). Also, I was able to purchase a silver version of the 6BL mouthpiece at a great reduced price from a UK website... just thought I'd share that...George, Sudbury, Ont., Canada

Additionally, I later purchased a Denis Wick "booster" to add more weight to my 6BL classic above; essentially turning it into a heavytop. The jury is still out as I experiment with the booster on & off...thanks, George

i am currently using a Yamaha 51Dl but am probably going to the Schilke 51Dl or the 4Al because I am getting a new Bach 42BO strad trombone

I’d say, buying a $200 bass trombone mouthpiece is totally worth it. I bought a golden 1g Vincent Bach megatone mouthpiece.

I play BBb tuba and use the Denis Wick 2L heritage I find the heritage is better for larger and less intricate songs. It is fine playing twiddily pieces but tounging takes a lot more effort

Will a 9BL fit in the same trombone of a 6 1/2 AL?
@mr.starfish49654 жыл бұрын
Jourdan Reacts | Is your 6 1/2 AL small shank or large shank? If it’s large shank, than a 9BL will fit the receiver. If it’s a small shank trombone, the 9BS will fit.

this wasn't a review. you looked at prices and said you recommend them to your students but didn't say anything about the mouthpieces. you just reiterated the same info we can find on the product sheet.

Why isn't this a good mouthpiece for marching band
@AKCEuph2 жыл бұрын
The cup and rim tend to be a little bigger than what you would typically want for a marching band situation. Very dark sound and that takes a lot of air to make. With marching you typically want a little more shallow and smaller rim to get the bite and the projection that you would want from the field. Dont get me wrong, people do it, I would just not suggest it.

@@AKCEuph i am a junior who has marched 3 seasons now… i have found that the harm that a shallower mouthpiece causes to your sound is not worth it in the long run, especially during the switch to concert band.
