I haven’t been able to experience the new update myself yet, but I wanted to share that group of players and I had a funeral for the old manor last night, we walked through all the areas and shared memories, it was very nice. I feel they were truer to the original design, more so than Steve’s and the Silverglade Village, which were completely redone.

This update I thought I was going to fricking hate, but I actually love it, despite the fact I am actually going to get lost in it..but it's super fancy. Maybe it'll be the next hang out spot for SSO-ers?

I love the new update, it was needed and the place fits the "old money" vibe better (before the place looked like it was poorly thought out and built in a day, now it looks more like one cohesive unit. I wish they used the new stone textures to make the sales stables more fancy though! My only real complaint : What's with the bootleg Bentley Continental? 😅😂 I just wish they took a little more time to make the design a little more their own because right now it's litterally a copy of an existing car (they only bothered to put a plastic cover over the twin headlights but the rest, proportions, tail lights, rims, everything is litterally a Bentley (and even the part they changed they couldn't make it different as it still has twin headlights under that cover so.. Yeah) I almost want to offer to redesign all the cars for free but I know they won't ever respond so why bother lol)

I personally think the update is pretty, and I especially adore the home stable and birch trees, but I miss the rows and rows and levels and levels of grape vines! When I ran around, I barely found any. I feel like the main focus of the vineyard is gone in that way. I also will dearly miss the rose garden... I'm not against updates, but they didn't have to completely remove it...

My biggest thing is the landscaping. I mean it's meant to be a prestigious, expensive, "old money" location and yet there are weeds everywhere? I don't mean the weeds you can do with the gardener quest-line, it's just I don't feel like there would be random grass sprouting in the middle of a path, or flower weeds growing outside of their specific potted location. I miss the flowers in the stone planters at the front, I think the entrance is a bit messy, something with the hedges and the grass there just looks unkept. I don't understand the juxtaposing of The Riding Arena getting a massive update, so it's built up and has more going on (alluding to it being a busy center) but the path way if your not already in the manor is a TINY winding dirt trail that fades out in to grass? Don't get me wrong, I'm such a fan of this update and the added features to the Manor, it's been my Home Stable for years now and always happy to have more to do, but it's just these little details that rub me the wrong way 🤷‍♀

DID THEY GET RID OF THE HUGE OVERLOOK ARENA???? No one seems to be talking about that (and i have not felt like getting on SSO for a few months) but the overlook arena was my fav arena for large Flat Shows. I am going to cry if its gone :(

They made the cats smaller in the saddlebags because everyone was whining about them clipping through the bag.. And when I say whining they were straight up acting like sso committed a cardinal sin istg. So dramatic over such a small thing. Like what did they expect? There's a reason sso didn't make fluffy cats for the longest time. 🙄

the manor has been my home stable and favorite area since 2015, im really sad about this update... i loved all the open area the manor had, and to me it looked very realistic. It is so compact now and whats with all the GRASS? like not even cute grass like overgrown grass everywhere, and sso loves to add like 10 different paddocks i dont like it. I just feel so sad because the manor was like my safe space i could go to to see the old realistic sso style. Now its cartooney it is no longer my favorite area and i will have nowhere to go :/

I mean I think it's spacious bc it lives up to the name. The forgotten fields, though I wish it was a little more nature-y like maybe more flowers and maybe a river. Something like the valdedale forest but still looks forgotten. Even that or add wild animals like bunnies, birds, maybe more cows n sheep

I agree the redesigned races are easier than before; but honestly, I don't mind. When I first tried them, I felt disappointed they were made easier. But then I asked myself: Do I have a short attention span? I do. Do I hate long and challenging races/quests with small rewards? I do. Have I hardly ever ridden the Manor races precisely for this reason? I have. Do I seek only the shortest races with the biggest HXP reward most of the time? I do. Am I damn lazy and spoiled? I am. So in the end, I must admit, paradoxically enough, that I don't even mind the game becoming easier. 🫠

I understand why people miss old sso but I hate when they keep mentioning it!! It’s not going to go back! I hope to God it doesn’t, that’s the quickest way to get me to leave the game lol
