...We made a go around because of rapid and hardly controllable speed changes. We prepared for another approach and now we are trying to use our chances.

Hats off to the man in the right seat. He instructs the other on what to do, then calmly instructs a go around and takes control to show how it needs to be done. Obviously a very difficult landing that is done excellently and with patience.

A very good example of multi tasking whilst under pressure. Good work capt. You feel immediately when it's not working and things can slip away quickly. Go around great choice in this case.

Due to automation, I see a lot of folks beating up on commercial pilots for "just riding along" while the computer flies the aircraft. However, they need to see videos such as this. What a tremendous work load, focus and care for the safety of all. Very sketchy situation handled perfectly. A+++

Ultimately the Captain is responsible for All those lives sitting in the back. It was the right decision to take over the controls and go around. Those gentle inputs on the throttles is what makes the difference between training officer and the Captain. Great landing!

What I really liked about the first video (with the go-around): First, it's really nice to have a video where everything isn't going just right and the crew is actually struggling with the airplane. So many videos show it all happening by the numbers easy breezy. Here, we saw when things aren't quite as cooperative. I also like how the trainer let the student get to the point he was getting into trouble before taking over, and the had the humility to execute a go-around when he himself could not get the approach stabilized. Good stuff.

Denis, great recognition of loss of speed on final and taking the appropriate action. GO AROUND (TOGA)! If the approach is not stabilized then you do not attempt the landing. The second attempt was no piece of cake either as you encountered windshear again when you were about to touch down. As a Commercial Pilot & Capt.you handled it extremely well! It was also a very smart move taking the controls from your F/O since you have more experience in situations like this one. My COMPLIMENTS as a viewer from the USA on a job well done!

Прекрасно, Денис! Отличная посадка и работа экипажа. Спокойно и чётко. Да, прочитал ваш документ - всё очень грамотно. Я думаю, что к "let's go around" придираются только потому что это высказывание как-бы является предложением что-то сделать, а не "приказом". Мне судить дальше трудно - т.к. не моя кухня. (Летаю на Цессне 172). То что вы не полный газ дали - считаю абсолютно оправданным, т.к. вы были на большой высоте и спешить некуда. Зачем лишний стресс/перегрузки? Тут 1:1 можно перенести на маленькие самолёты - я тоже, если Go Around совершаю с достаточной высоты, то спокойно это делаю, а не так, как будто это какая-то критическая процедура за секунду до катастрофы. У нас в Германии куча маленьких аэродромов, где при посадке тоже прям за 200м до полосы начинают прыгать скорости из-за орографической турбулентности... На Цессне конечно всегда можно сесть, а тут увидел как это происходит, когда летишь на большом лайнере. Спасибо ! Побольше там воспитывайте хороших пилотов!

Nice work, fellas. It's really insightful watching you guys keep the crew coordination under some really challenging conditions here. You have wind shadows and rotors off the mountains really chopping up that approach. Not fun. But this video really is a good lesson in crew coordination. Clearly, the trainer is in charge, but he's taking input from the student and factoring that into the approach, trusting him to help keep him on top of Vref. You guys used every bit of those ten knots and then some. I noticed the biggest difference between trainer's approach and student's approach was trainer managed the vertical speed much better. Never went over 1150 and generally stayed right around 1000 until the last bit there, where you were executing a "descending TOGA" and it hovered around 700 then parked her at 400. Thanks for sharing! :)

Thank you for posting this approach and for taking the time to share written notes about it explaining your thought process during it. Your attitude is very professional and respectful. The approach and landing were amazing and you both did a really good job at flying the aircraft. Unfortunately, there are too many armchair pilots on the internet that have an opinion over SOPs and procedures when in reality they cannot land properly a Cessna in a flight sim.

Thanks! The level of authority depends on situation and goes up and down. Here it was instruction of a trainee-captain, for whom it was his very first flight to Tivat in the left seat and the very first time of such a bumpy weather there...

Many thanks Denis . Although flying only microlight aircraft one has experienced similar condition. At times on the final approach one flies into downdrafts,,applying full power one is just able to maintain height and elects to do a go around.Flying a wide circuit I was able to land on another runway where the approach was normal !!
