I love him very dearly rest inna Jah kingdom wid Hailie Selassie mi brejin, yuh heart NIH afi get bun, all sufferation done. Dennis mentions cocaine in this song, comparing his addiction to the woman, I don't care of he used it, we all have our flaws and life is difficult to deal with in addition to juggling fame, a repute, being a traveling musician and a personal family life. I still love my incomparable Dennis Brown even Bob said Dennis was the Crown Prince of Reggae music.

Ad tech electrical, you made me smile remembering the late great American actor Robin Williams who also told my grandfather (Dennis' dad) that his diction was perfect. Grandfater was a well know actor/comedian in Jamaica and appeared in the movie Club Paradise with Robin. I too always thought DB's mannerisms and way with words are carbon copy of grandfather's. My dad too was a well known actor/comedian when DB started his career as a child star. Blessings

Sad to think American radio programmers preferred sappy euro crap like Ace of Base and UB40 over the authentic reggae stylings of a master like Dennis Brown - despite DB being a mere 2-hr flight from the American mainland. American racism is ridiculous and unbelievable. This man's music deserved - and deserves - far greater recognition.

UB40 have done more to promote reggae artists than any other performer or producer, They created the link between white westerners and the Caribbean, When the Jamaican immigrants came to the UK in the 50s and 60s they brought their music with them, many settled in the neighbourhoods of Birmingham where UB40 were formed, sooner or later a cross over product had to form and UB40 are that cross over product. They paid huge amounts of money volunterily to the artists who's songs they covered and are highly respected by jamaican artists for that reason.
