Was on the lighting and camera crew on "Speed" and had daily discussions with Hopper on politics while he was in hair and makeup. This doc captured his essence. He was bigger than himself and could not be understood only in terms of his acting. Miss you...

Awh yes!, how did i not see this?. One of the coolest guys ever, and best actors ever. I've always liked him ever since i saw the Trip years ago, and the strange thing is, the year he died i bought Easy Rider, and left it aside for a few months, then i decide to play it and show my friends, the next day he's dead. He struck me obviously as a complete wild man which i love, but also warm and laid back -- he's the kind of guy you don't forget, and i always think of him.

If you've not already gotten "The American Dreamer" you need to. Don't watch the shitty VHS version here on KZbin, go buy it on blu-ray. They recently remastered it a couple years ago, and its how you should see it.

He told her not to read his Poetry . Because it was dark and it was evil unlike like her. A disturbing Voo Doo that wasn’t for all souls. It was best for him not to even mention. The art was wrong but yet Still it exist. When all you consume is evil from an evil environment. Few lessons come from it. And the lesson is unknown at this point. He hoped his pen would run out of ink. It drew a large amount of strength from his soul and physical body. Sometimes he was exhausted but could not stop writing. Too afraid he would forget the words and subject. But somehow he just lost his place.

These folks tortured themselves to make films back then. The back scenes make a better film. Dennis Hopper was insanely different, but the drugs and alcohol will crush even a transcendent soul. Not to mention these locations themselves. They're soul crushing alone.
