Too bad they didn't get along and had a fall out at the very end. And also Dennis didn't get along with the late Leslie Griffith after she took over for Elaine because she wasn't being professional and prepared at the start of every broadcast from the time she and Dennis introduced themselves

Holy Toledo! Dennis Richmond made a visit to the KTVU studios. He was the anchorman who was not a Ted Baxter or a Ron Burgundy. Besides Dennis Richmond, I remember Van Amberg and Jerry Jensen at KGO ABC 7, Dave McElhatton at KPIX 5. They told the news straight.

Wow, this was so cool to see in my feed. I lived in the Bay Area Dec 1972 to 1995 and often watched Dennis Richmond and Elaine Corral. I live in the middle of the woods on a mountain in rural Upstate NY now. If you dream of doing it, do it.

Residing in the middle of the woods is definitely living the dream. A stark contrast to living in the bay area.

As I can remember years ago, 1997 to be exact, was the first time I saw Julie Haener on the news, was on the weekdays at the time, or once in a while during the week or so, she would fill-in for one of the news anchors on assignment, or day off, etc. I believe I've been watching the 10 o'clock news off and on ever since. Congratulations to Ms. Julie Haener! Best wishes on her quest for a well-deserved retirement! She's one of the best news anchors of KTVU, and another amazing news anchor along with Dennis Richmond, who will be missed!

"We did it as a team" except when I was growing up in the 80's whenever 1 anchor was out, the other would do the news solo tossing to Pat or Mark at the appropriate times. now whenever there is an absence they have fill-in anchors. my how things change from being an independent station to part of a network.

Why is Dennis Richmond's face so much darker than the rest of his face & head?
@zabbodaborba152420 күн бұрын
hmm...Everything I read about DR was that he was total d- -k. One of the best talking heads there's ever been no doubt, but he treated those around and beneath him with total contempt. Another bunch of talking heads fawning over him on air live doesn't mean much. Still I will admit he was one of the best and I enjoyed KTVU news during his tenure. Soon AI generated news casters with real (sort of) personalities will be perfected and all pretense will be gone. But there will be plenty people who will believe the emotions they show about the events and people they report on. And there will be gossip too: " I hear AI Bob is doing the cyber nasty with that cute weather girl generated over at KCRA."
