No one had a bad word for him, a true gentleman and a credit to his sport as evidenced by all these fitting tributes. RIP Ray.

I had the pleasure of meeting and playing Ray in an Exhibition match in 1983 at Worthing Connaught Leisure, I was only 15 and very nervous. Ray could sense this and set me up a few times over the pocket to help me. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Legend RIP Ray

Reardon the best all-round player of all-time. Consistency, temperament, potting, safety, creativity, longevity, tactical, mental strength, popularity, charisma, humor, etc.....Reardon had no weak links in his game The only one who has ever had it all.

R.i.p. ray you are one of the best snooker players of all time. To be a success at snooker play decent safety shots and score a century break that will help you start the match very well. Steve davis was ray reardons sporting hero he learned a lot watching him on tv winning the world snooker title. I met ray reardon once at butlins minehead and i got his autograph he was very nice to me taking time out to chat to me.

What a great player and ambassador for snooker. If you view some of the old footage before the WC went to Sheffield, they played in environment's that were far from Ideal. Dennis touched on a good point, after working in mining for years, that probably gave him a greater appreciation of life and a determination to enjoy it.

Played a couple of frames against Ray way back in the early 90s, still have the picture of me with him and really nice thank you for the games and note he wrote for me. he was still such an amazing player and was a great guy to chat with, all be it a one time meeting, I felt honoured. Even with countless chances I had no chance mind you but that was fine lol Great player, RIP Ray

My goodness what a great loss , not only for snooker but for all the great gentlemen of the world. Ray was one of the best and I was very lucky when he came to my snooker club in the 80s and played with one of our lads, in Hammersmith snooker centre. He was very k8nd and friendly and down to earth. Thank u for the beautiful memories, I learned so much just watching u. RIP ❤❤❤❤

Just had a very sad dream about him. Woke up to look up if he was still going and was disappointed to find out that he'd passed away 4 months ago. 😢 The dream involved his "mother" as well, and I'd described her son as "distinguished". Told him that I have his book (which I've had since the 80's and still do to this day - a "wide" book about the game and its players from c.1985). He was very willing to talk with me in the dream which I was surprised he was willing to do with a complete stranger. He was one of my absolute favourites growing up, along with Steve Davis (and Dennis Taylor ☺️). The game of snooker has lost one of its most significant legends - one that will always be highly regarded by myself, and I imagine many millions of others. Rest In peace, Mr Reardon. 🙏😔

Great player, and a tactical genius, ...a great champion, but more importantly a real gentleman and a great embassador for snooker,... One of snookers true greats ......and he made one of the funniest responses to someone who said he looked like Dracula,....he remarked " I can't be Dracula,", l love steaks to much !..

At 1:17 Dennis says "So he wasn't going to give Alex the advantage of playing on the same table, he complained about the table and they adjusted the table, put new cushions on", I don't understand this, can anyone explain the full story? What does he mean by, "he wasn't going to give Alex the advantage of playing on the same table".?
@davidchambers12844 ай бұрын
What he meant was, Alex had already played on that table, and so Ray wanted the table changed so it could be new for the both of them and thus Alex wouldn’t have an advantage
