Dennis van Aarssen - The Joy That's In Your Heart [LIVE VOCALS]

Writing Christmas songs is such a joy. You get to dive into the Christmas spirit and think about togetherness, presents and celebrations with the people throughout the year. When we wrote ‘The Joy That’s In Your Heart’, Jeff Franzel, Maria Christensen and I just had so much fun. We wrote it during a writing trip in July of 2022 when I went to New York and Connecticut. It was hot outside (around 38°C or 95°F) and we were just fantasizing about a Christmas where everything went wrong. You burnt the food, the tree got knocked over and ruined your Gucci shoes…. Not really the happy, white Christmas vibe you’d want, until you realize it’s not about all those material things. Be'Cause Christmas is about the joy that’s in your heart.
