I stayed at the city of Tours for a month attending Language School at the Institut de Touraine. I visited all of these chateaux and more. As you said it's very rewarding. I love languages, history and travelling.

Complimenti per le riprese e le spiegazioni. Molti di quelli rappresentati li ho visitati anni fa, comunque è sempre un'emozione rivedere quei posti magnifici.

Hi Dennis, I really enjoy watching your video over and over again, you are such a knowledgeable person, I learned so much from you. In the last 2 years I could not go anywhere, hoping this year I can go back to visit Europe. Thank you very much for your time and effort helping travelers. May God bless you.

Very much enjoyed your detailed commentary and historical notes. Thanks for putting this together! We’re going over later this year and I am just working out how many days to allow for the area. It looks like you could be here for weeks!

Hello Dennis. Thanks for sharing. I love your video very clearly and detailed. Do they have private taxi at the Loire to take us to different Châteaux? I don't know if its better and save money to take the fast train from Paris and take taxi at the Loire or take private tour from Paris. Thank you!
@denniscallan6 ай бұрын
Taxi would be expensive, but there are minibus tours you can get which do a good job, especially from the city to Tours, which is a good place to stay a night or two.

Thank you so much for such a thorough trip to the loire! I will be there at the end of January and planned to go from Blois to Angers. And renting a car. I hate to drive. Can I do it easily with tours and trains? Is there a particular stretch or particular chateaux for which it would be easier to rent a car for a day or two? This was a perfect travel guide. Merci beaucoup!

You cannot see the chateaux by train - they don't go there, except in Blois. You can take a train to Tours, stay there a few days and sign up for escorted day-trips to the chateaux. The Tourist Information Office in Tours has some good offerings: www.tours-tourisme.fr/en/preparez-votre-sejour/excursions-a-la-journee/ With that, you don't need to drive.

People often ask, why today with all the technology do we NOT build intricate buildings like such. Well the simple answer is those castles were built on the backs of slave labour and on the blood of prisoners that are based on a very unjust and cruel system. The French revolution ended all that. Study that and you will realise these castles are symbols of cruelty and abuse. Good news is that system is making a comeback.

Lepi su ovi zamkovi... Kod nas u Srbiji toga nema. Mi smo zamlja koju si svi rušili kroz vekove. Napadali u dva svetska rata, a pre toga Turci su nas vekovima uništavali.

google translate: These castles are beautiful... We don't have that here in Serbia. We are the land that you all have been destroying for centuries. They attacked in two world wars, and before that the Turks destroyed us for centuries.
