It's always a good idea to require account activation (an email with an activation code sent to an email address that is trying to register) BEFORE registering an email address with Django. Otherwise, anyone could use any email address to create an account. For example, I could sign up with a new service using Dennis's private email address (if I know it) and he wouldn't be able to create his own account with that service. :)

Hi Dennis, Greetings from Las Vegas! I noticed when user is not logged in but tries to go to products page, he is directed to the login page. After logging in, the user should really be directed to the products page. The way the code is written, he is sent to the home page. Since this series was posted a couple years ago, I'm not sure if you have caught and corrected this. Thanks for a very informative series!

I assume the User is being modeled from django.contrib.auth.models, since we don't model the user for the database in models.py. But I don't get any registered user showing up in /admin. I get a solid POST from the 'register' page in the terminal. So what am I missing here?

when you get to adding the html code for the registration form. He puts the placeholder names in vanilla javascript. you will notice the placeholders are not going to the correct inputs. That is cause the form_field index numbers is wrong. the first index should start with 0 and then 1 and so on.

Amazing content, but you don't have a need to write login view in views, Django provides built-in LoginView class you can import it in url file and you just need to give it a login template path, rest of the work will be handled by the Django like authentication and error handling.
