I got to meet cash when I was little. My great grandfather loved him and never missed a show when he would come through. I don't remember much other than him saying 'quite don't you know who that man is. It's Johnny Cash.' I later got to shake his hand and he told me I was a beautiful little girl. Ah now I miss my grandpa.

Yeah ..that was 1956 .. Johnny Cash saisd himself in an interview in the '80's that he never spoke to or saw Elvis again after Elvis went into the Army.. He did'nrt say anything bad about him...just stating a fact.

One of Johnny's own biographer has an in-depth detailed interview in the book where Johnny states matter-of-factly he and Elvis were not as tight or close in the 1970s as they were in the younger years, BUT he did say that he and Elvis saw each other a couple times in the Vegas years and they spoke on the phone as well. He also spoke very affectionately and emotionally on a number of video interviews reflecting on what he himself refer to as "my friend" when talking about Elvis. I find it silly to try to downplay a friendship between two people. At the end of the day, bottomline, even though they were not extremely close and didn't talk all the time throughout the years, they both respected each other and considered each other friends.

It was very funny, Elvis must have laughed a lot when he saw this.😁 they were good friends, I wish they had a performance together, and how good Johnny sounds, I wish he performed the whole song seriously too.

I forgot to mention after he did the imitation of Elvis, Marshall Grant had a revolver in his coat and pulled it out as Johnny was combing his hair and dropped his comb on the stage floor after imitating Elvis as shooting at Lice on the comb of Johnny Cash. I think it was a Colt 45 or something like that.and the crowd jumped up for the noise scared the shit out of everybody as it was echoed through the arena. I remember the nice brown suit he was wearing with Goochie shoes. I was young at the time now I'm 75. Buck Owens was also pretty big at that time.

I saw him do that imitation in person in 1962 at the McIntyre arena in Timmins. Good show, him and Johnny Western, Gordon Terry. Gates Lepine was there also and spoke with the man himself about song writing. I was right at his feet in front of the stage.. I think he was a little zonked out haha. He kept putting his thumb in his mouth as if he was holding his teeth or something haha. But he looked good in a nice brown suit and a tie which he pulled of after busting a few guitar strings. hehee. "Johnny Yuma the Rebel" was on his roster then. Jim prince from CKGB radio was hoping he'd come to the station to say hello. Good luck on that one. haha. Love the man.

Cash was not jealous of Elvis. Both had very different personalities. Both sang wonderful gospel songs and were an inspiration to many. But like all men, they had their faults. Elvis loved the women. Cash had a hard time with the drugs. I don't think you could say either was "better" in that respect.

Kevin Barry What does dropping out of school to tend to your personal matters have to do with anything? You should have fixed this problem either after your father died or during his last days. I'm not trying to be mean or offensive. I'm telling you to quit your whining and get your shit together. You shouldn't fix your grammar because someone on KZbin told you to. You should fix your grammar because it is one of the many necessary tools required to function both effectively and productively in society.
