As a freelance writer myself, I can testify that what Denny is saying here about editing is even more true now. Also, love the shoutout to Mark Gruenwald, who wrote arguably the first deconstructive story on superheroes with the original Squadron Supreme maxi-series.

I guess the editor's job has changed drasticaly since Denny's days. Now the editor takes the writer's vision and chops it up to what the company really wants unless you the writer is part of the company's special elite club. That's sad.

It's was it's happening at Marvel now, this fucking guy who came from nowhere C.B Cebulski it's destroying Marvel, by far he's the worst editor Marvel has ever had...I heard Marvel print 100 comics a month, how even an editor can get track of anything? That's why they fucking cancel and reboot every two days.
