It is almost impossible to believe that Judith battled a chronic lung disorder her entire life, yet it didn't stop this beautiful voice from enchanting the world for nearly 60 years, both as the shining star of The Seekers and as a solo artist. Athol Guy, a member of The Seekers, recalled often hearing her coughing in her dressing room, then coming out and blessing us with that beautiful voice. But in the end, she lost the battle, and the lung disorder took her from us at age 79. That voice was just as pure and clear the end of her career as it was in the beginning. If you have never heard her sing "Carry Me," please do. It was the last song she recorded before her death. She recorded it as a solo artist, but her fellow Seekers planned on adding harmony to the song as a surprise for her, but she died before they could finish adding it. But, to honor her memory, they upgraded the song and released it to the public.

The pathos in this song is just incredible. I reminds me of a chapter in the Bible in Acts (chapter 20) where the Apostle Paul is leaving Ephesus for the final time. 35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. 36 And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. 37 And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him, 38 Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

Randy--nice post, I'm a Bible scholar myself. However, some human goodbyes will have a permanent ending, but those of us in Christ will have a happy reunion--not even death can separate us! 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, *Death is swallowed up in victory.* "The living righteous are changed "in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye." At the voice of God they were glorified; now they are made immortal and with the risen saints are caught up to meet their Lord in the air. Angels "gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Little children are borne by holy angels to their mothers' arms. *Friends long separated by death are united, nevermore to part,* and with songs of gladness ascend together to the City of God"[CG 566]
@leecowell81656 ай бұрын
Wow, Randy you're into it for sure. Read a bit of it myself and whoever wrote it needs to clean it up and that includes interpretations because a lot of it is very, very sketchy to say the least. They definitely needed better recording devices back then but the problem is when is when... when?

Richard--come on, no woman is a "goddess" none exist at all. We should not worship Judith, but the real God/Creator of the Bible--there is plenty of evidence for His existence. I doubt that Judith would agree with you in this. Gen 1:26 And God said, *Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness:* and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth. We were all made in the physical and moral image of God, in the beginning.
