Hii! I have one story to tell 😊 When i was 6. grade there was one girl that had budgies and when i went to her house she showed me her budgies they were in terrible conditions. She wanted to cut their nails but she “ accidentally” cut the poor budgies finger. At that time i had budgies and i at least knew how to take care of them, and i knew this was wrong. I told her mom what she did and she gave them to me. After five years in my care they are thriving and are happiest they ever ben 🥰

I have a completely different point of view. I dont like the opinion the content creator has being presented as if it is a fact of parakeet care. I watched the video to gain knowledge about keeping parakeets. This might be a strong opinion but it is an opinion. It seems much better to say that you should know how to do a proper job if you think it is best for the bird in the situation and that is what you are gonna do. Whatever you believe I'd rather see a bird well trimmed than one who is in pain having been hurt by someone who doesnt know what they are doing.

Hi Denny, thanks for cheeping out against cutting wings, little birds are built to fly, their muscles are arranged so that they can fly. Many budgies in the wild fly 200 miles a day. Did you know that most tap water is poisonous to birds as it contains chemicals, such as chlorine? Ma gets bottled water or collects fresh rain water for us. We visited your store, so many lovely birdie items for sale, we had a job to get Ma away from the store. xxx Jenny, Timmy, Bert, and Ma.

My aunt has 2 Budgies, One is the son, The other is The father, The son broke his leg, I Saw him near A car in a Parking lot, he was injured and we wondered where he went, We found him, same marks, Same injury (One Tiny spike On his head), we Took him, Let him bathe himself and Gave him food (Some seeds and Leaves) They don’t Know me, so I tried taming them, Especially the son, But the father was A bit aggressive towards the son, It became so Worse While I was gone. The son became SO silent, he sat in the corner all day, Not making a single bit of sound, He was dead silent, He wasn’t dead though, he’s Perfectly healthy besides his Broken leg, It only happens during night when I Put his dad And him back in their Cage (Oh, and The mother Died), He never speaks A word and whenever I see him, he’s silently there, Cautiously looking Around, Especially at his Sleeping dad. I took Him out the cage For a while, even at Night, and I’ve never seen Him as active and Playful And loud as before after a Few days we Took him out of his father’s Sight, Hoping a change, But He had to go back in to See a change, one day, and He was DEAD AS HELL SILENT I couldn’t take him out, My aunt wouldn’t let me. But I still Wanted the son To be playful and safe, So I always Sat near him and Always blew on them Whenever his dad got WAY TOO agressive, he quieted down, But he was still a Bit hateful towards his son. Although the minded his Own business After That, I had To leave because of my Older brother’s Education for some time, I’m just wondering if they’ll be okay. Am I The idiot for blowing on them (The son felt Safe when I blew on him tho, because it quiets the dad), Where’d I go wrong on this? Am I over exaggerating this?

We did teach our budgie to stay away from the stove and not to jump on hot pans. When we eat, hot pans are on the table and then he just walks around them and he eat with us by standing on the edge of out plate and pick some food from it. Once we had a great laugh because we ate soup so he jumped on the edge of my plate and that was slippery from the soup, so he did made a slide and took a bath in my soup. He was soooo tame, that when he was standing on the table, i could bang both fist on the table and only inches away from him, and instead of being scared, he made himself big and made some noises that would say "you don't scare me!" We got ours from someone who found it, and you can bu them for only 5 dollars, but i wouldn't sell ours not even for a million dollars because they do become a part of the family alright. And we never kept them only at night in their cage, just for their own safety and what they do prefer, but as soon we get up, then the first thing is open the cage and then they were free to fly all around the house until we got to bed, so they had a good life with us.

These are all very good points. Also never cook with non-stick coated pans. they release toxic fumes. I'm a vet tech for an exotic animal hospital, sometimes birds need their wings clipped if they are injured. Your vet may make the suggestion to clip to keep your beloved baby from injuring themselves further while they heal, or if they are blind/ have neurological issues. Clipping wings does not hurt them but it is stressful for a small bird. i agree its not appropriate to do all the time and that birds should be allowed to fly. but there are times when its for the health of the bird.

at our house, we have one budgie named merlin, and we have a connected living room (where his cage is) and kitchen. we have everything in drawers, and keep everything well ventilated and since its a small apartment, we usually get delivery or make microwaved meals. When we do make stuff, we dont need non-stick pans. Again, small apartment, so the most cleaning we do is his cage. (Super messy lil guy!) We have a smaller cage we can easily move around since he has a huge one all to himself. when that happens, he usually comes to my room or my moms. Sadly, my mom has a huge smoking problem, and im trying to get her to stop. We have a balcony, so shes starting to use that. Its not ealthy when you have a kid, sick budgie (he was found, wings clipped, on the streets and we had to take him in, he was already sick), and an old cat in the house at once! So far, weve done a lot and ive noticed shes getting better. we dont use nail polish and i paint in my room or with his cage closed. We think he may have been neglected, he just started to fully warm up to us. He hates water. We respect that. We got him a bath and he made soup out of it. He still knows how to keep himself clean, surprisingly. He still hasnt warmed up to us. He bit me. I still love him. He likes it when i play peekaboo with him or make silly noises. He loves laughter. He tries to laugh too and its the cutest thing. He imitates us a LOT. I would never clip his wings. I saw how miserable he looked when he realized he couldn't fly as much. It was the best feeling ever to see him climb out of his cage, jump up, and glide around it. I cried. Hes gotten so much better!!! We clean his cage every week, and since he LOVES watching us have to get down and clean, he gets very messy. (by cleaning i mean wiping things with water or picking up random crap off the floor.) He finds us struggling very amusing. Once he threw a seed into our wifi router and broke it. If anybody actually read all of this, let me know if theres any tips!

I got 3 budgies. Unfortunately all of them got clipped while at the pet shop. So i bought all the clipped ones and got them a somewhat roomy environment. The cage is large enough but usually i just leave it open as they are our only pets. Day after day i would oversee some shenanigans with the 3 and after about 4 months of ownership, they have their wings fully restored, with no need for prosthetic feathers to boot. They fly wherever they want now.

My mom when she was still living in Serbia had a little cockatiel and it loved being outside and riding on the dog and suprisingly it didnt fly away, and my mom told me that she once accidentally sucked it up in the vacuum since she didnt notice him, and also it once accidentaly stepped on a hot stove and on a hot pot Suprisingly the cockatiel didnt die, but someone stole it off the fence Supposedly it was a city attraction in Knjazevac 😂

Some birds are ok woth it, and you can train them to hold them, but pleade never hold your budgie if they dont want it

@@moos5737 exactly! I've got 22 lovebirds, some of them don't like it, others come to my finger and hand, and I love kissing them again and again and telling them how pretty and wonderful they are 😇😉🐦
