Denon DJ Prime 4 vs Prime 4+ - Should You Upgrade ?

In this video Ill give my opinion on whether you should upgrade from a Prime 4 to a Prime 4+

I’m gonna have to watch all this video. I’ve only seen four seconds of it. I watched the part where you said you’re not a scratch DJ and that makes me want to join your channel and subscribe. I’m proud to say I’m not a scratch DJ I’m a jockey. I think the difference between the two dish jockey just mix and play music. We don’t beat match loop sync any of that stuff and again I’ve not watched this whole video only four seconds I actually don’t DJ anymore at all. I’m on there personality country radio DJ, I went with the rane being a denon guy this is a huge step for me. I know I’m gonna regret it. I think I’m gonna end up buying the prime 4+ thank you for the video.

My prime 4 was came with tighter jog wheels, similar feel as in the new, interesting.

Have Denon figured out how to use FX on line/phono in like the XDJ-XZ

Just been practicing on my P4+ Every day I like it more and more. Just wish that they could do jog displays with proper bpm info and timings. Nobody really needs that artwork. Also waveforms could have been improved with multicolours and bar separation indicators. Just my thoughts

Unrelated to your video topic but about the p4+ still. From what I understand, you can not preview any FX only in your headphones before sending them live. Is this correct? Seems like the only thing missing when compared to the sc6000/x1850 setup.

hi, nice video man. I agree with the jogs, the 4+ are better for scratching (in reality better to go with tts or moving platter for scratching :D). I think its worth it only because of the stems, but i dont think the stems quality is going to be improved in some future versions. The cpu on this thing is not capable of that kind of power. I like the separate fx section though. I dont know why almost all the controllers are keeping the FX section at minimum or only on pads, it Sucks a lot. Keep it up man! :D

As A DJ that doesn't scratch or use streaming services I don't see much reason to upgrade. Is it probably possible to upgrade or adjust the platters.

You only talked about lights and the jog wheel. If that’s all that is upgraded than there’s no point in spending the extra money.

You mean you can't just replace the jog wheels with the upgraded version on a $2000+ DJ controller? That's crazy. It's the same model. Should be the same chasis. I'm sure people break stuff out in the field and need replacement parts. There shouldn't be any need to buy a whole new unit.
