Individually either cartridge would be welcome in my system. Side by side I sensed more fullness of sound in B. A is very smooth and pleasant but B allows me to hear the rougher edges of Michael McDonald’s voice without being harsh. As usual excellent work! Thx

They’re both great sounding carts, and the differences are somewhat subtle. B seems to be more balanced and neutral sounding, where A has a bit more low end, more sizzle on the highs, and a bit more of a detailed sound. I believe B is the Denon and A is the AT cart. Hope I’m correct, cuz I’m actually using a DL103R right now, and prefer B even through the KZbin filter, but the AT is far from being a slouch. Both carts are nearly identical, which is a good thing. I find "A" to be brighter and crisper at the top end, while "B" has a smoother, richer midrange. Again, if you own either of these cartridges, you should be very happy.

Just listened to both lossless files on my headphones on my laptop. Cartridge B definitely has a wider, more expensive sound but both cartridges sound excellent. Not sure if cartridge B is the more expensive cartridge (the AT33SA, which is almost $300 more than the DENON DL-130R). I don’t think the difference is that huge to warrant such a price difference…but, then again: the better sounding cartridge (B) might be the one that actually cost less. Time will tell what you reveal. This comparison, as well as your channel in general, is very informative and the quality of your vinyls are excellent!!! Keep up the great work!!

I already have a MM/MC phono preamp (a Schiit Mani), but the highest gain on it for MC is 59dB (at 47 Ohms). I just decided to purchase DBP-6 MC phono resister loading adapter plugs with 10, 20, 50, 100, & 200 ohms (plus 2 spare for custom loading) in order to accommodate a low-output moving coil cartridge such the DENON DL-103R. I truly thank you for doing this comparison because-aside from it being extremely helpful for anyone deciding on purchasing one of these two cartridges-it dispels a number of myths out there. One of which is: if cartridge has a (technically) “better” stylus, it will sound better in comparison to another cartridge that doesn’t. Obviously many other factors go into what makes a truly outstanding cartridge. Of course, there is no substitute for doing a direct comparison and hearing for yourself! Again, great work!

When I did this test on my stereo system, playing KZbin from my TV App with audio through ARC Hdmi.. I could tell which one was the Denon after 10 seconds. (going in knowing what to expect) (And I checked the reveal and I was right) Now I've downloaded the hi-res files and tested them on my computer with the headphone amp and Grado RS2e.. not a chance.. not even at very high levels can I make out any difference.. Just came back here to this KZbin video (still on the headphones) and it's gone.. cannot hear the difference anymore :D I've always thought that the Grados were amazing headphones.. but apparently, they aren't that well resolving after all.

I think B has a little more top end making it a smidge more open sounding. However both are superb. As I have an at95sh.. I am guessing A is the audio technica as it's a tiny bit more muted at the top end .. Bet I'm wrong 🤣🤣

It took me a bit to hear any firm differences, but I have to agree with some of the comments from other viewers. "B" seems to have more punch and a bit stronger bass. I have the Denon DL-103R and I love the sound. "A" sounds great also as MC carts are the best! I'm gonna guess "B" is the Denon.

Очень сложно дать оценку по качеству, A звучит чуть менее детально, B звук чуть более открыт и немного динамика получше. моя оценка не может быть объективна, так как нужно послушать исходники, компрессия от KZbin явно звук выровняла и разница минимальная, уверен, что в жизни это не так, и подача отличается достаточно сильно у этих двух картриджей.
