Making the DL103 phono cartridge

Oh my gosh - what a treat to watch! Thanks to Denon workers, camera operator, video editor - everybody! I love the way the worker is so confident! What skill and poise. I have two Denon cartridges, a 103 and a 110. It would be so cool to think maybe I’m watching the hands that made them.

I have an old buyersguide from 1980 with several extensive tests and this cartridge scored best with the Ortofon MC30 and the Yamaha MC1S, 27 cartridges were tested. DL-103S scored 8/9 on the measurements, 8/9 on hearing experience, 8 on price vs quality ratio, the other tested one, the DL 103D scored 8/9 on the measurements, 9 on hearing experience and a 7 on price/quality ratio. The Ortofon scored 7/8 on measurements, 8/9 on hearing experience, 6 on price/quality ratio. The Yamaha scored an 8 on measurements, 8/9 hearing experience, price quality it scored an 8. Turntables test was won by the sony PS-X9. scores 9/10 - 9 and a 4 on price quality ratio. The Dual CS621 scored 9 - 9 and on price/quality ratio a 9.

Actually she just builds carts for a hobby - by day she does neurological microsurgery. But I think she could. I was expecting a teeny-tiny doll house soldering iron but her skill is amazing.

All the while playing MM Catridge audio AT95e, VM95 and Nagaoka MP110. I. Just aquired DP61F and it sounds great but somehow it doesn't sound right with MM Catridge. My wife went to Osaka for business meeting and i ask her to buy me a DL110 as i dont have a MC phono stage. The DL110 is a high output MC Catridge and can work with my Rega Brio setup. Wow was very impressed with the sound, so natural and tiny tiny sound can be heard clearly. No distortion due to the long arm of DP61F. The Denon turntables are built perfectly for each other. The downside is one cannot change Denon MC cart when the stylus wears out and unlike Nagaoka one cam buy stylus for replacement.
