Denon Prime 4 Firmware 1.6.2 Problem Fixed! Try this before anything else if your having problems.

Hopefully this tip can save you some time if you're experiencing some playback issues after installing the 1.6.2 firmware update for the Denon Dj Prime 4. It worked out for me and resolved all issues.

@@djciscov1 Unfortunatley it worked only that time. after reboot when controller is cold (after night for example) platter vinyl not working. Only after 40 to 50 minutes come alive,

I swapped my RX2 for a Denon Prime 4 and noticed a couple of things. First was the waveforms, they kept glitching for a micro second every 30 seconds or so and while attempting to scratch it really didn't feel right ( not as if I'm anyway a good scratcher ) After a bit of research I did a reboot. This did nothing. Now I have done the reboot via USB and hey presto it works pretty well so far. Thanks for the video.

you right on that Denon does have great support. you can't beat that my only issue with the prime all in one is that the recording is mad low

I’m ok with the recordings being low volume upon play back because if I’m happy with the mix I’ll boost the volume a bit and add a little comparison and limiter. Sometime if my record levels are too high I’ll get some distortion that can’t be removed later.

Hi there great video good tips ....luv The Denon Prime 4... Quick Question ... the Left Load Button and the Back Button have a nice clear crisp clear CLICK when pressed. Although the Right Load Button and the Forward Buttons have very Dull soft press with no clear crisp CLICK. Can you advise what is the correct way these buttons should feel and sound when pressed.

Mine are the same on both sides. Maybe you used one side more than the other. If it still works fine I wouldn’t even worry about it until it stops working but that’s just me. If it really bothers you you can probably have that button replaced.

You should of just updated again over wireless to see if this solved the issue. I work in it and I never use firmware over wi-fi lol good way to brick a device. Once it's been established firmware over wi-fi is good. You must of been 6.1 as wi-fi firmware was only available in 6.1 I believe. But great advice I update via my pc but it's just me. It great we have these choices NEVER NEVER NEVER do it at a gig or just before lol

Maybe someone can help: after firmware update first boot was fine. Second boot: all knobs and faders are decalibrated, even in controllere mode. Everything is at -25% as midi value and maximum is no more then 50%. Also I have no audio volume...very very Little with all at max. I downgrade to 1.6, upgrade again to 2.2...no way to work... Any ideea? The Menu works fine, restart, update, anything but I cannot use prime4 in neither way. No volume... No corect midi controllere... H Edit: how can I factory reset it?

Try reinstalling the firmware with no drives connected to the unit. If you have a SSD installed in the bottom make sure to take it out first then try the reinstall with a usb thumb drive that contains only the firmware. Maybe that’ll work.

Currently having issues with my jog wheel on the left did the current firmware update still had issues, rebooted, did several resets, returned to firmware downgrade, Denon contacted, tried their remedy, still issues. Sad to say I'm about to let go of this Awesome unit.

That sucks, I would hate to part with my Prime 4. It really is a great unit. Are you still covered by factor warranty.

The unit has a warranty from Guitar Center which is great but at times when a unit goes in for repair there is a 50/50 chance it may be fixes or may not be, I think it may be a sensor, I have the Prime Go and Prime 2 which is 100% great for scratching the platters on the 2 are different then the 4. I have the Pioneer xdj xz and my plx1000 with my Rane70, I also use the rane 12's but was looking for a complete all in one unit. The crew at Denon are great with the feedback and do care, so I cannot fault them there may have been some defective units during that production batch. Who knows I just to keep the music going.

My prime 2 left hand jog wheel stops playing. When I switch the unit off and on again it works for a while and does it again. Are you having the same problem?

I still had the issue with the jog wheel on the left, steady communication with Denon support, they were helpful but if the unit had a defect it just plain had a defect. Like a vehicle that has issues and those issues are among others who have the same vehicle, the auto company issues a recall to fix the issue, I know Denon can't just hand out a $1900 unit to everyone who encounters an issue, and there are not too many Denon repair places and of course since some have this whole Denon is not industry mentallity you will not get the priority and quality of repair at "authorized Denon service repair places". I REALLY LOVED THE PRIME 4 WAAAAY BEYOND IN USER INTERFACE !!! I still have my Prime 2 and Prime Go ( which I wish there was manual loop adjustment, maybe next update ? ) these units in my opinion are great units. I don't give compliments just so they can send me gear, I give compliments because it is fact. 1982 to present, from Sony, Technic, Vestax, Pioneer turntables, Gemini ,Clubman, Numark, Radio Shack, Vestax, Rane, Pioneer DJ mixers, almost every controller over the last 15 years, Roland dj808 still in my top 3. So I can give my opinion and honest advice on this topic. Would I purchase another Prime 4, YES but right now I need some space, lol

@@CornishNews Thankfully I haven’t had any more issues with the P4. I still continue to use it at home and gigs. If it was a unit being released at this point in time I’d probably still set it over some other controllers being released now.
