Nice! Yeah you can include the amalgam removal as part of your preparation reduction or remove the silver first. Get after it simran!

I'm not good at impressions , never practiced them in school because of pandemic. would love to see a detailed video about them, currently we are using the condensation silicone (silaxil), i have to repeat the impression like 6 times to get it right or till i get bored, it either sets fasts ,doesn't set at all, and sometimes it sets but doesn't cover the needed details. i use cord 0 during prep and remove it before impression.

Hi Angelica! Thanks for watching the video. I’ve been where you are at the beginning of my career and you will get better. A great impression basically involves 4 steps: an excellent preparation with clean margins, hemostatic agents (how to control bleeding), cord packing technique & impression taking technique( how to move with light body around tooth if you are not scanning ). I am currently in the process of answering many specific questions like this through educational videos on my Patreon since it’ll take some time to make those videos and I want to keep this KZbin dedicated to procedure vids w/ captions. I hope you’ll join us there www.patreon.com/smileinfluencers

We're taught to always protect the adjacent tooth with a metal strip, yet I've never seen anyone use it in videos like this. Is it a thing that comes with experience?

Yes! Control comes with confidence which comes with experience. Until then, using a metal strip is an excellent way to prevent you from damaging the adjacent teeth. Wishing the best, Sami

how much have you noticed air abrasion helping with retention of the core buildup in cases like these?
@SmileInfluencers
@SmileInfluencers 2 жыл бұрын
It definitely helps. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary but I’m accustomed to using it with almost every procedure I do 😂. Sometimes it’ll help me remove a small layer of resin that I did not see with my loupes and it cleans any other residue. Here is a study on air abrasion pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/10823068/

Man, the scope is awesome. Which type is it? Next thing you need are some sexy electric handpieces.
@SmileInfluencers
@SmileInfluencers 2 жыл бұрын
Haha thanks Alex! So the scope is the CJ Optik and it is awesome but I think what’s more important is the camera attached to the scope which is a Sony A7RII. Eventually I’ll get my hands on some electric handpieces and maybe a CEREC to highlight more onlay bonding procedures! If you need the scope reps email let me know

I can try to make something in the future but honestly it’s just a microscope, beam splitter & camera setup
