Hi. I'm opening my own dental practice in December 2021. thanks for the tips. yeah, looks like I'll be getting all the blame but i'll only use that to become a better dentist and learn from my mistakes. I will only have once receptionist and a single assistant (or 2 at different shifts) and maybe an office boy to clean the floor and surfaces after each patient.

Hello, I am currently a D1. I love dentistry because of the autonomy of the field, and the ability to practice how I want to. I am concerned that by the time I finally am able to pay of my debt in order to finally own a practice DSO's will be running the field. Am I over stressing the growth of corporate dentistry? thank you

Can I ask about material wastage? Is it okay to wear one mask for each patient per day... I was at a practice that told me to use the same mask for all patients for atleast two weeks....I thought that was Abit crazy and bad infection control, I think changing a mask a day is ok? And I wasn't provided with a face shield....I understand that we need to save but that's too much

Absolutely. I’m talking more about being wasteful with using a pool of bonding material when you only need a drop. We need to be perfect with infection control and never cut corners but we also need to be efficient! Thanks for the comment Mikki

Wow yes I agree that’s a bit crazy lol currently I wear a K95 mask with a level 2 or 3 mask over it. I try to use the K95 for a week since they are more expensive but I always wear a level 2/3 mask over it to keep it clean. The level 2/3 mask I try to use for the day unless it actually gets soiled, but I always use a new one the next day.

@@ashleyi1985 see that's fine! Because at least you had something to protect your innermost mask and you changed the top one, I only had one mask, and it's the normal soft surgical one, no n95

That really is crazy. I always toss away my used mask by the end of the day and use a new one in the day next. I don't think that's debatable.
