Canadians are paying for this not the government. Costs have doubled for groceries yet our wages have stayed the same.

Senior, 2 dental visits so far. Near $1,000. 100% COVERED! I DID NOT HAVE TO CONTRIBUTE A PENNY!

Yes, but if you listen to this video - if you used the CDC, the dentist who performed the work lost money on it. Based on what the presenter said only 70% is covered and the dentist is supposed to each the rest of the cost. So for $1,000, the dentist had to cover $300.

For people who have been paying insurance forever and so those of us who have paid for ourselves and our kids now have to pay for the people in this program as well. On top of that we are told to not cancel our Public Service plan. Same old, same old political rot for the turncoat NDP and the traitorous fiberals.

You seemed pleased to receive free dental care. So who paid for your care? The taxpayers !

@Nothing-fp7jg This is wrong...dentists can and are mostly charging above the CDCP caps. If a dentist chooses not to do this, it's entirely their decision.

I don't mind paying the dentist directly and being reimbursed by the insurance company. Why should dentists even be involved.

The media does not explain the facts in their reports and fails to inform the public. So many patients are misinformed about what/how much is covered , and makes dental professionals seem unwilling to join due to greed/not wanting to help patients.

This information is incorrect. Dentists are certainly able to charge their normal rates. Yes, the patience then pays any amounts over the CDCP caps. Now 75% of dentists across the country have signed up.
@dentalelle
@dentalelle 13 күн бұрын
That is incorrect. Appreciate the comment but not sure where you're getting your percentages from. Having that said - I have now signed up for CDCP so this is an older video. I will be making a new one

@dentalelle Just came from my dentists and had lots of work with a huge bill (>$2100). I only paid the portion over CDCP caps). So, out of that total, I was only out of pocket about $300.

Well, there's the financial side of things. I haven't had professional dental care in 35 years. I bought dental tools, a water pik, xylitol and k2d3. So far, I've managed on my own. I have sjogrens syndrome, lupus sle and tmj. Everytime I went to the dentist my jaw locked for days or weeks and the dental hygienist hurt me. If, I can, I will avoid at all costs. It's just not worth it. I wouldn't pay a dime.

As a hospital-based periodontist who sees many patients with underlying medical issues including heart disease, diabetes and a history of cancer, I was shocked how little coverage is provided for these patients. The CDCP provides the absolute basics, many of these patients require surgical treatments to improve oral health and overall health, no coverage. But the plan stresses the link between oral health and systemic health

@pauljackson4357 ...thats the Liberals for you. The Conservatives would cancel it all together. We need truly universal dental coverage but we see joe the Liberals and Conservatives have decimated our universal healthcare over the years.😪

I have signed up but have to wait 3 months before I can use it. But no matter what I think I will keep going to my Dentist and pay. I am a senior on pension but I have the option to pay over 3 months .

Are you OK with uou money being used for expenduve ER visits for dental care because they can't afford preventative care? Hospital care is the most expensive care.

Completely unfair to seniors who have some coverage through their extended health care benefit plan. This is not free to the retiree but paid for every month by that retiree. Most coverage is not huge, often not more than $1500 per year. With the escalating costs of dental care with a cleaning now costing almost $200 and crowns a few thousand the person with such benefits is penalized. I often wonder if people realize that this government is buying your vote with your tax money ? As with most things this government has rolled out it is flawed. In the process our PM is bankrupting this country. As this dentist says, how fair is it that they are asking the dentists to pick up the cost of the dental care over and above their usual charges that the government is not covering ! In Haliburton Ontario there is a free dental clinic which can be accessed by needy people through a means test. Local dentists take turns 'manning' this clinic. This is a better solution ! Anyone earning $90,000 a year can afford to pay for their own dental bills. Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing !

I know many many people who have signed up and non would make 90000. Dentists have always had 2 plans .one for people on a plan through work etc and one much cheaper for those no on a plan. That been going on for years. First questio are you on a plan.
