You have helped so many people, and want to thank you for the amazing help you provided me. I bought the Harbor Freight version of Dremel for $10, which included several of the stone tools. I have done wonders with it, and doubt my dentist office could have done as well. I have made nearly 20 adjustments on my own, taking it slowly and carefully. I had a very ill-fitting mess to start with on the lower denture. I went to one of those "affordable" denture places, and would never go back. Dentist hardly did anything, leaving the job to the technicians. Every time I do an adjustment it gets better, and am about 90% there, starting with zero. I didn't wear the lower denture for months when I left the dentist office, and your video showed me what to do. Just go slow and see where it hurts, take a little off, and see how it works. I made an adjustment and wouldn't do another until I ate with it. Then I knew where it needed to be trimmed. Thank you!

having started out as a machinist i have some little tricks with this, get the cloth polishing wheel for dremels, smear a little arm&hammer tooth paste on the area that was just ground down, lightly blend to a mirror finish, this is more for better surface area contact and suction, also this helps with microscopic trash sticking

Then she told me try not to make all your adjustment in one day because you want them to be snug and fit, not loose. And by the time you get done adjusting they won't stay in at all. I didn't know what bits to get, but I do now, thanks again. 👍

I never could get these dentures to fit correctly and since they were injection dentures and not actual acrylic dentures I couldn't get a single denture lab here to work on them, so they never did fit correctly, I ended up donating them to a place that makes denture products so they can use them for testing different products on them, I went back to using my original dentures which still fit like a glove.

Hi, love your posts, I’m in New Zealand and always had issues with my dentures. I recently had them relined, and as my gums are so sensitive, I mentioned this to my Dentist, asking him if he could put a silicon liner inside my dentures, and they feel just like denture fit, but it’s permanent, no having to reline them every 4 days, if lasts as long till your next reline, as our gums are always getting smaller with age. They feel amazing. There was too much of a gap for adhesive to work, and I hated using glue anyhow. Just thought this would interest a few people. They’re so comfy now, and finally suction in.

Remember that you really should go back in for an adjustment, however if you do it yourself, take very little at a time then wear the dentures for a couple days and see if the sores begin to heal. It takes time for sores to heal even after the dentures are not rubbing that spot any more.

well I say do what is comfortable for you simply because the dentist is not wearing your teeth and does not know how your mouth feels. I have tough as nails gums and can eat anything with out my teeth but having that hard acrylic on the gums all day makes them hurt and I will not put myself thru that every day to try to get used to it. some of us can never get used to that hard on hard and I will not suffer thru the headaches every day torturing myself to do so when I can simply use densurefit and be comfortable and not have that pain at the end of the day and not have the headaches either. Love me some cushion...lol But you have to decide if you want to do what the doctor says or go your own path, I normally say to people to listen to their doctor but most of them don't wear dentures and don't' understand what it is we have to tolerate every day

Thanks for explaining the use of the dremel tool for making adjustments. Even better was your explanation about the stone tools. Mine came with the stone tools and some of the metal ones too. It also came with the grinder you warned about. I bought a dremel for future adjustments, and I was afraid of the idea of using it. I figured it was a good investment because I could also use it for my nails. Then I realized, I didn't even know how to use it for my nails, so even that was nice to see. This is similar to the story of The Princess and the Pea, lol I saw someone else coat the inside of their denture with toothpaste to act as a pressure indicating paste. Not sure if it really identifies the pressure points, but they use PIP's at my dentist's office, to identify the pressure points. I think the one my dentist used was a powder type.
@dannettepeters15076 жыл бұрын
What is PIP and where can it be sourced? Thank you!
@MWall6 жыл бұрын
Dannette, PIP stands for Pressure Indicating Paste in dentistry. I don't know where to get it, or if it is even sold to the general public. However if you google Pressure Indicating Paste Dentistry, you will get some info. I saw a few websites previously, but it looked a little expensive for personal use.
@yourfavoritedenturewearer6 жыл бұрын
I am happy the video was helpful for sure. I don't know what PIP is but one thing I realized is that if you take a dry erase marker and color the inside of the denture. when you put it in and bite down the pressure point will push it away from that spot so you will be able to see it.

I would suggest going to the dentist for that, because it's a much bigger adjustment than I am doing here, a dentist will be able to asses how much they need to adjust the denture and do it correctly, remember if you do it wrong, and the denture don't fit correctly any more that would not be good. @yourfavoritedenturewearer Жыл бұрын
it wouldn't be a good idea to sharpen the teeth because you could bite off the tip of your tongue and that would not be good, over time you will be able to bite thru just about anything you want it just takes a little practice and time and of course building up a tad more muscle in the jaw as well.

Well I tried to sleep in them. Woke up clenching really hard. Coming to the conclusion that my allergies are causing my tongue to swell. Just recently found out avocados are kin to rubber trees. Had avacado in a green smoothie. Can you say "LATEX" ? Lost my left eye due to latex gloves during eye surgery at 12 years old. Nothing sticking to the nylon is a big problem for sore spots on lower which bone continues to recede. RK puts those 90 degree angles in upper and lower middles are a problem where the flesh squeezes into that tight space and gets irritated those sharp points too.

yes they are difficult to get used to for sure, they really squeeze the skin on the gums but I think once I get them adjusted they will be just fine. you may want to avoid eating avocados from now on. Sorry you are having some trouble with your allergies.

Hello. I have a temp top denture and I was wondering if I can with those tools and attachment bits be able to shorten the top palette portion so I can wear it and it making my mouth so full and large to the point where it causes my gag reflex, cannot take my meds or drink or eat because the middle portion is too big and large? Every dentist I have been to says that my mouth is so tiny like child size they could barely get the smallest metal molding into my mouth which ripped the corners of my mouth when they were trying to get a mold in it and they did not have a child mold plate instead so I have not been able to wear it at all. I need to cut away the middle length of the palette or roof portion of that top temp denture. Can I do this with those bits and the rotary tool? Also, if there is another bit I would need of a particular size and type and material of the bits. The denture is too large and I can’t eat but extremely soft foods which really there is not much to choose from with your gums becoming raw because you cannot chew food without the teeth/denture and therefore I cannot eat much at all so I was curious if this would work for cutting and shortening the length of the center palette so it does not rest at the back of my throat? Thank you for any help and suggestions.

I would suggest taking it back to the dentist and explaining the problem and let them do any kind of major adjustment like that. this is just to show how to do very small adjustment's to the denture.
@easyrider46496 жыл бұрын
You explain how we can use tools to make adjustments but how you know where on the dentures to make the adjustment at ? At the dentist office, they use a white paste to cover the denture and put it back into your mouth. Then the white paste would show where your sore spot is located on your denture. So what do you use at home for a paste to let you know where the sore spot is on the dentures ?
@yourfavoritedenturewearer6 жыл бұрын
well I know my mouth well enough and how the denture sits that I just know where it needs adjusted. I don't need any paste to tell me where it hurts and where I need to take some off, however if you do need something like that you can just put some tooth paste in the denture and rub it around real thin and wait for it to dry it don't take long, then put the denture in and bite down and remove it again quickly and where the tooth paste is rubbed away is where you will do the adjustment.

For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to make my denture teeth sharper I just felt like they were very blunt, so I took my Dremel tool and took a little bit off but now I have a indention in the bottom and top. It did sharpen my teeth but now I have these intentions that are driving me crazy because they are Sharp I was going to take the Dremel tool and take it all the way down but I don't want to mess the whole denture up. Do you know of a way to make your dentures smooth again after making a mistake like that. I mean the chances are I will just get used to the way that it feels but these are my temporary ones so that's why I'm trying to grind and shape for when I get my permanent I will know exactly what I need
@yourfavoritedenturewearer3 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not they were already sharper than your natural teeth were, it just takes time to build the muscle in the jaw for biting because it takes more pleasure to bite with dentures because they are not supported by the bone. However I would say leave them alone and when you get the perms leave them alone also, and just build up the strength in your jaw, it's much cheaper than messing up your dentures...lol

you will not taste the dish soap if you rinse it with hot water. it's no different than washing the dishes. you just hold the denture in your hand scrub it and rinse under hot water. you can not use tooth paste on the dentures because it 's too abrasive and will start scratching them up real bad and that will allow bacteria to settle into the scratches and you will never get it out of there.

I got my top dentures Friday afternoon. They adjusted them a few times while I was there, I still wasn't able to fully close my mouth. I got home and I was able to really look at them, and the gum is too long. It pushes my top lip up and gives me "monkey mouth" but my gums, and the inside of my cheeks were bleeding. Before I left, they said they couldn't adjust them anymore, but they never took height off the gum. They told me I'll have to give them time because my bone is going to keep shrinking. But there is a small gap in the front part of the denture. My gum doesn't touch the denture in the front, because of the height of the gum. Would I be able to file some of that gum height down? I won't be able to even wear them the way that they are
@yourfavoritedenturewearer4 жыл бұрын
Don't be filing on them because you will ruin the warranty. Yes they have a warranty on them all dentist that I know of do that. The denture probably isn't too tall but the fact that you now have something on the outside of the gum pushes the lip out and makes it look like you have horse teeth. The pallet is not the issue I can promise you that, it's a combination of the top and bottom denture just sitting a little different than my other dentures do. I already have a problem with suction because the pallet is shorter if I take more off I may as well just through them away because they will never get suction then. I promise you it is not the pallet causing the gagging

right I know that the combination of the way the bottom denture sit's different than my acrylic and the way the top moves is what is making me gag. I have to get it to sit right and sit still and then I won't have that issue, but it's a process and it may take a little time to figure it all out...lol

Right Bill, as soon as I get my ut bottom (should be soon) it should be a game changer for me, because I have the immediate acrylic bottom yet, and the UT upper. Right on pal.

well remember that the bottom denture can make you gag as well so if you start gagging when you get it don't shave the pallet on the top....lol It will usually happen because the underneath of the tongue back where the last molars are is rubbing the denture in a weird way and that will make you gag as well.

How you doing sir before I go any further I just want to let you know I don't mean any a few months ago maybe a little longer anyhow long story short I figured I'd go onto KZbin because KZbin has just about everything so with all that being said I googled how do you adjust your dentures yourself using tools of course. The second video was you talking about pain in your this could have been an error through KZbin or you're riding somebody else's tell. I skipped through this video hoping that you would show me how to adjust my dentures but you didn't I did not give you a thumbs up I didn't give you a thumbs down and did not say anything rude or disrespectful I'm just trying to give you some insight now you're putting out these videos to either help people or make money or both either way it's a beautiful thing. I just didn't get what I wanted all the other videos in betweenwhether I like them or not actually told me and the population Will Rogers looking how to do what it is I'm looking for. I hope that this feedback is helpful and you don't call me all kinds of names and things like that but even if you did because I didn't give you a thumbs up thumbs down or subscribe I wouldn't know if you did so feel free it's on you I hope this helps you the way you tried to help me I guess. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHi0Ymuer8-Wgac I believe this was the video you were looking for, I hope you have a great day. I have covered about every subject there is when it comes to wearing and eating and just getting along with dentures in general, and if you watch the next video that comes out next week you will clearly see that I do not do this for the money...lol

I'm sorry about your gagging. I would rather have sore than gag. Talk to Russell to see what you can do. Take cake bro.

I have already talked to him and chose to do my own adjustments once I get them to fit correctly they won't make me gag any more for sure.
