Why is it USA fire trucks including a tower truck are responding to medical calls? Surely that's a ambulance job. If any FD equipment should go surely it's the pickups

It’s because most FD apparatus can arrive on scene faster than an ambulance

@@emeraldzebra9360 there is also more fire engines etc, than ambulances. Also most firefighters are paramedics or EMTs

@@michaelmiera4780 they are here too, but we have alot more ambulances than fire trucks, it used to be about the same. But what the hell are the US government's doing then if they are not spending on more ambulances. It doesn't take a genius to see a van will get through traffic quicker than a truck. Plus time is life in these situations.

The fire apparatus and crews are already on duty as a fixed cost to the City and County of Denver, so it is not going to cost any more than to have them respond to medical calls. Beside the fire crews are all trained as first responders. What is the point of having them on call if they are not going to be utlilzed?
