A known luggage thief who was released to do it again. FFS stop letting criminals out.

During the 1970s and 1980s, most major airports had baggage claim attendants at all the carousel areas who would not let you leave the carousel area until you could present all baggage claim ticket stubs that matched the baggage claim tags on the luggage you were taking. Baggage claim theft problem solved! Of course, the disadvantage is if you are in a hurry to leave the airport, you may have to wait in a line until the attendant checked your claim tags. Many international airports still have baggage claim attendants, but it seems most U.S. airports now no longer use attendants. Police walking around on patrol is not enough deterrent for a thief to casually walk away with someone's luggage. I can pack for an 8-week international vacation just using one carry-on and one backpack (most airlines consider the backpack a "personal item" like a purse). The other way to avoid theft is to sit near the front of the plane so you deplane quicker because you can usually get to baggage claim before the bags for your flight start coming onto the carousel.

@@IGottaSay Nope. I have absolutely no need for a location with laundry facilities/service. I pack 3 sets of quick-dry shirts and pants in matching beige, tan, and olive green colors. The quick-dry pants have zippers that quickly convert them to shorts as needed. My wife does the same thing - no check-in luggage ever. We wash our shirts and pants simply using the soap already provided inside hotel room. Some hotel rooms - both 2 star and 5 star hotels - include a packet of laundry detergent in the bathroom, expecting that guests may wash clothes in the bathroom sink. Otherwise, I use the hotel's bar soap or liquid soap to wash our quick-dry clothing in hot water and let it drip-dry overnight in the bathroom. I also collect all the unused hotel soap and shampoo along the way. We also pack a ziploc sandwich bag filled with powder laundry detergent as backup. For underwear, both my wife and I wear disposable underwear, not the thick absorbent incontinence underwear but you can buy thin lightweight disposable underwear on Amazon - quite comfortable and they feel to me like wearing dainty women's panties lol. We change out our underwear every 3-4 days and use a fresh underwear every 4 or 5 days. My wife and I have traveled on more than 30 6-8 week trips throughout Asia and Africa like this, sometimes showering only once every 4 to 6 days. Humans can go for months without showering and the natural oils in your skin and hair are designed to keep you healthy without the need for using soap every day! Too much soap and shampoo use is actually bad for your skin and hair. Even without showering for more than 4-6 weeks, I think my wife is still super-sexy and we often engage in intimacy too, getting "dirty" in more ways than one ;-) In Africa, my wife and I are sometimes the only light-skinned people in a big crowd of Africans in countries like Ethiopia and Namibia. But after not showering or shaving for over a month and having a deep tan, I look like the Taliban (without the AK-47 slung on my shoulder) and no African has ever tried to rob me throughout all my repeat visits to African countries. My wife and I have gone on 6-week camelback treks across Mongolia and the Gobi desert, sleeping on the sand dunes while wearing surgical masks and goggles to keep the sand out; we bathe in outside streams/creeks. We have also hiked across vast expanses of the Great Wall of China carrying just a large backpack and camping gear, sleeping together in a small pup tent and seeing unrestored sections of the Great Wall that no tourist (or even locals) have ever visited. You just have to be careful to not get injured while climbing over broken sections of the Great Wall, but it is not any more risky than climbing a 14er in Colorado!

I've always wondered how many bags were taken, statistically, every year. Now I know. It seems like too easy of a crime to commit - nobody patrols and there's not really a way of telling until the person is long gone. Good thing for the cameras, but also not surprised the guy went back to do it again. Soon he'll be going to Breckenridge to steal skies out of the racks.

I would not want the bag back. Everything is replaceable.

Baggage claimed needs to change to a secure holding area and starts to show tickets to match w/bags but it will slow down travelers checkout.
@shaggydawg54192 ай бұрын
baggage claim area should only be open to arriving passengers. All travelers leaving the area should show baggage tags. Problem solved.
@Meowser1862 ай бұрын
Airports/airlines need to have security at the luggage carousel and you must show luggage tags to take the luggage. Maybe keep the guy in jail longer?

DIA is NOT safe, and hasn't been in 5 years-
@ll.1112 ай бұрын
Surprising the bags are at the carousel with no passengers around. That never happens when we travel because luggage takes forever to get to baggage claim after arriving.

Surprised this isn't a common thing somewhere like LAX lol, but DIA is little much I thought Colorado was safe!
