He was my pastor in the late 90's and I respectfully warned him when he started having a HEAVY focus on Jesus' sacrifice being for all people's sins. Carlton hadn't gone off the deep end yet, but a number of us could sense it. He eventually got the point that he couldn't handle the thought of his grandparents (who were not believers) burning alive in the Lake of Fire, forever.

Bishop Carleton Pearson was appropriately handled by the Church according to the Scriptures for his false teachings. I'd been one of his followers since Azuza until he converted to The Gospel of Inclusion. I had to repent today because I let my grief over his illness and death cause me to not dig more deeply into his false teachings. I had read his books and listened to him being interviewed about his beliefs. It wasn't until a few days ago I went to KZbin and listened to his sermons and lectures about Inclusion. I couldn't believe the horrible things he said about our Bible, Beliefs and Christ. I was shocked and appalled. I went to my Facebook activity log and deleted everything I had to say in his defense. We better stand firm on the truth and defend it without apology no matter how much we love who a person once was especially if they are misleading others.

May I ask, how do you *KNOW* hell is real? If you answer _”because it says so in the Bible…”_ that’s fine, but I’m hoping for an answer that leads to tangible evidence that proves it’s a real place. For example, to a lot of people, the Kingdom of God, angels, the Holy Spirit, and Satan, are not demonstrably real in the same way that the City of New York is a real place and Giraffes are real animals. If you could convince others in a tangible way why you believe these things are real, you would have a lot more success at convincing people to become Christian.

When someone is living under the devil’s deception, there is no amount of evidence that you could present to them that would change their mind. The gospels are witness testimonies of Christ. The majority of mainstream historians and scholars do not dispute Jesus’s existence. Nor do they dispute the existence of his disciples. He and his disciples are actual historical figures, whether or not you want to admit their existence of not. Jesus describe hell on several occasions. And the Apostle John mentioned it in Revelation as the final designation of those who have rejected God. You seem to be under the belief that the Bible is some fairytale book with make believe characters. If that’s your thought process, then there is no point in debating with you.

Carlton Pearson came to our church and preached back in the early 1990s. He had just been married. I don't know if it was his first wife or not. She was with him as well. What was interesting was that Carlton really never mentioned God or Jesus or anything concerning the scriptures. I remember this as being a bit odd at the time. Over time I began to hear his views from others and understood. Why does it seem that people who get the biggest platforms for speaking and preaching are often the biggest heretics and hypocrites???

This is why context is important! Revelation is apocalyptic imagery! The visions are symbolic! It’s not for one to create esoteric interpretation such as “hell follows you”. In Rev. 6:8, Death and Hell (Hades) are presented as personified powers in that *death* was a rider and *hell* “followed death”. Paul uses the same apocalyptic approach in Rom. 5:12 as he presents “Sin” & “Death” as personified cosmic powers that infiltrate God’s original created bliss, and by the fault of one man, they “enter” and “reign”. @@Freedominyeshuaministries Appreciate these scriptural references, many of which I am aware of. However, I assume you are also aware of the many debates regarding Hell/Gehenna/Hades which what you’ve posted doesn’t prove that Hell is a physical place or spiritual place (whatever that is suppose to mean). One interpretation could be the realm of the dead, and the other to merely mean the grave. Also, “thrown into Hell/Gehenna” could relate to a fiery judgement in the annihilation sense by which Jesus utilised that imagery. John in Revelation states that Death & Hades will be destroyed. This doesn’t mean the realm of the dead, or the physical/spiritual place of Hell will be destroyed. Rather, utilising apocalyptic imagery, personified death and hell (the grave) which will be defeated at the coming of Christ when he returns with the Resurrection. This still doesn’t disprove the excerpt shown that the “Hell” imagery which is understood today has platonic origins (Dante’s inferno) which is what the scholar suggested.

Shalom man of God, I personally hope that Bishop Carlton had room and chance to reconcile his differences with The Most High. I truly hope he was able to have a sincere reflection on the beliefs he chose to adopt. I get that certain leaders are disturbed by how he has been treated. Because they are looking back at his contributions to the Church. He did show care and compassion towards people. But what we cannot disregard is how The Most High God has viewed Bishop Carlton's beliefs about His Word and about hell. And He is approaching many others from this disposition who have adopted and supported that kind of belief pattern. This does not remove The Most High God from loving them. But He is not just a God of love. He is also a God who exercises the seat of judgement. He has to deal with sin, darkness, and with behaviors that contradict His Word and His image. He is holy. And He has to deal with wickedness and evil. It has to go somewhere. Because satan has a real "seed" in the earth. The enemy has "children" too. So where are they suppose to go if he'll is not real? Are they suppose to be allowed to continue in destructive behaviors without any consequences? Everyone will not accept The Messiah Jesus Christ as their Savior and Redeemer. And many has not accepted Him. Hell is a very real place as you have stated. Even though The Most High God did not intend for humanity to end up in a place like that, many choose to go there. People are leaving this side of life going there everyday. And it is not only disturbing, but heart breaking. As for the scripture about the pale horse and hell. That is not a metaphorical interpretation. That is a real illustration about how hell being an actual place. And because of death's legal right to be in the earth, sin has to be judged. And hell is the place where sin is dealt with and judged. Revelation 6:8 "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth." This verse is unfolding a real judgement taking place. This is not a metaphor. The Most High God has to deal with sin. Hell following death means that it is the consequence of death. To die in one's sins is to die from a life that was built around this spirit (death). Hell follows death. Anyone who lives a life that is absent of The Messiah's life is living a life that hell follows. Hell is the consequence of living such a life. This is a real place and it awaits those who are entertaining the spirit of death, especially through practices that host sin and darkness. We need to truly get acquainted with The Holy Spirit so He can teach us how to interpret the scriptures. I know I have had my share of errors, but I am thankful and grateful that The Holy Spirit was patient with me and continues to help me find my way through The Most High's beautiful Word. Shalom
