Proud of you man. Takes a lot of courage to not only do what you're doing, but to do it publicly. Also want to put this out there i am not political and am not talking politically.I'm saying I'm proud that you're developing yourself, not only in challenging your own views but accepting that you might be wrong about things and have things to learn. We all need to do this. Not just in politics but in all of life. Takes a lot of humility and I'm proud of you for being able to put pride aside to better yourself. I'm still working on it and it's motivating to watch you. Thank you.

Two great Americans, Denzel Washington and Thomas Sowell. DW grew up with his father in the home as he states later in that interview. TS is a brilliant man who just follows the facts that comes from hard research. Sowell should be must reading for EVERY American. You sir are on a very enlightening path. Get your house in order sure sounds a lot like Jordan Peterson’s “clean your room”. If people really think about it they would see that JP is seriously trying to help EVERYONE. And you, Van, obviously figured that lesson out on your own and I think that exploring the track you have been on with your videos is going to help a lot of people to also figure things out. Hopefully you and they can see that the “right” or “conservative” people you have been watching have been talking about nothing more than freedom and common sense. I’m a 50+ year old white guy in the south. I don’t want to keep anyone down, I want everyone to come along with me and live their best life.

Van, you just continue to impress with the extent of your character! Around the 15-minute mark when you were discussing officers shooting the gentleman with the knife, you showed us that you’re not only interested in continuing to learn and grow and change your opinions when presented with new/better information, but also being so open to admitting where you may not have known better and perhaps had an opinion that wasn’t as well-formed as you have now…? That takes such courage, especially to be openly learning in front of an internet audience. I cannot express how much I commend you for being big enough as a man to open your journey up to us in this way. It’s inspirational to see, and encourages me to continue learning and growing as a person, no matter how uncomfortable the journey may be. Keep up the fantastic content, and thank you for being such an honest, respectable, stand-up guy. We appreciate you for being willing to be *real* ❤️ Your family is blessed to be headed by a man of your character, and what an excellent model you are to your children, to show them by example that it’s good to learn and grow and always keep searching for truth. Wow!

Loving watching your journey, i've learnt a couple of things along the way too. Whenever you see the state (government) getting into the life of people i.e. welfare, ''estimulus package'' and a bunch of cutting corners in the system to make it 'easier' for the minorities and the unpriviliged, just know, that's exactly where they want you, and they will NOT allow you to leave, they want to reinforce that lifestyle of laziness where you get rewards for not doing anything while at the same time punishing those who produce and work. Im from Argentina, and in my country is a prime example of that, there's ton of poor people, who can't read, who drop out,who are ignorant, who do crime and are backed leagally by our judges to keep coming out and continue the cycle while living off the state's aid with no need of getting a job, our taxes are top 5 in the world yet our public infrastructure is one of the worsts. Roads are a mess, schools are a mess, hospitals are a mess, and you wonder, man, where is all of this money going to? Well, they rob most of it, and then the crumbs goes to the poor to keep them there. Funny thing is, whenever a politician goes to the hospital, it's a private one, where do they send their kids? Private schools. What do they travel in? Limo's and aircrafts. They make a world for us, and then they enjoy a world for them. Trust me american people, do NOT ask the government for sh*t, you will end up losing every single damn time. Learn from us. Learn from yourselves.

It's very rewarding seeing you actually grow your views. A lot of us have gone so long without seeing someone who isn't fake, who wants to make claims and not learn when people present more information. Case in point: You were wrong about the gun thing. I left a comment on that video pointing that out. A lot of others did. Most people would probably feel attacked by so many people telling them they're wrong, but you understood that we weren't hating on you, and you became a stronger, better man by improving yourself, by knowing when you were wrong, and that's beautiful. It is BEAUTIFUL to see a grown man ACT like a grown man, and grow himself. There is no reason to be ashamed that you said something ignorant out of ignorance. You should be proud that you took in what others told you and reconsidered what you thought you knew. I sometimes get frustrated watching you because sometimes you'll say things like defending the idea of white privilege which I strongly disagree with, and I'll leave a comment telling you you're wrong, I'm offended, or whatever. But it's because I see a brilliant goodness in you, I like you and want you to be as good as you can be. So when you see all these comments of people getting worked up or frustrated, remember WHY they're frustrated. Many of us went down this same road of discovery, and want you to succeed too. So when we feel like you're taking the wrong path or you got turned around, we feel helpless because it isn't like we can just call you on the phone or talk to you at church next Sunday. All we get are these pretty limited comments.

What is so tragic about this is, I lived in the ATL for forty years, in the suburbs, and I can say without equivocation that Black, White, Hispanic, Jewish etc families are all the same. They sold Girl Scout cookies, did car washes for the cheerleaders or pee wee football, smiled and held the door for the person behind them, said good morning or helped you when you needed a hand.... Yet the inner city whereby people of color struggle, nobody gives a damn, Politicians in control could care less.... absolute travesty,,, When President Obama was elected I had high hopes, I didn't vote for him but he was MY President and I prayed for his success.... He could have changed the reality of despair in the communities that suffer everyday. What a waste of opportunity.

Instead his presidency started the divide we currently have going on.. I was hopeful as well, but unfortunately, he is in the Democratic party and over the years they have become the selfish, self serving party more than the Republicans.. I was always the middle of the road kind, but the Dems have become so toxic I have swung to the right side and much of that swing started during his presidency and the race division i was watching happen.. especially from his wife. Its really really sad because we were on such a good path before his terms.

@@lorijones8147 I disagree. The Bush Presidency was by far the beginning of the rancor we see today. Albeit from the far far left who like Trump hated the man. President Clinton enjoyed a congress who was willing to work with him at least until the whole Monica thing blew up. I didn't see President Obama as a divider, like all of us he made some mistakes along the way but my only disappointment was his lack of leadership when we needed it the most. He unfortunately took a step back and allowed the stricken partisan congress to dictate to the country. A real shame IMO.

Good show, Van!! When Mr. Sowell said something like "being knowledgeable about the extent of their own ignorance", I immediately flashed to a line spoken by Clint Eastwood in a 1970's 'Dirty Harry' film: "A man's **got** to know his limitations." -- And Denzel definitely has a line on issues that need addressing -- And I don't know how old the WSJ interview with Mr. Sowell was, but that interviewer knocked me sideways with the 'update' on percentages vs. Mr. Moynihan's findings from the '60's!! I am a 61 yr old white woman. First of all I have to say I love you! I love watching your journey and applaud you for keeping an open mind and exploring all sides. Denzel is my favorite actor. I love his philosophy and wisdom. He is definitely an old soul. He has his eyes wide open and sees the hypocrisy of this world. He loves the Lord and it shines through. We have been decieved. I blame our government, the system and taking God out of everything. Prayer was taken out of schools also at that time . It seemed to of started in the 50s and 60s when families started falling a part. "My husband and I", and 75 percent of our friends from our generation were from broken homes. Most were raised by step fathers. Divorce rate was ridiculous! Yet all of our Grandparents generation were all still married. So divorce started sometime in the 50s. We are not sure why? This is a question I think about often. Smh? This world is so messed up and I'm not sure we can fix it.. Lord please help us. 🙏😢

I have watched your videos and most of the time I have disagreed with you and never made a comment but today I noticed a change in you meaning you are growing and understanding not everything is as it seems and when you open yourself up to listen and learn you become a better person for you and your family, oppose to hearing opinions that are negative and without no substance for someone's agenda you will always be running in place.

Thank You! You give me hope that there are reasonable, and intelligent people out there. Any hope for progress will come from people like you who can educate and challenge us on the fundamental problems. ❤ Mr. Sowell and Mr. Washington are very thought provoking.

Van, that speech you gave about getting your house in order applies to just about everyone. It definitely starts inside the home. We might be of opposite social groups and we might be in different areas of the country but there is common ground that we stand on.
