Fantastic footage of a great plane from yesteryear that looks like it has been colourised. Thank you for the upload.

Ist's great to see a colored movie form this Time. The little Brother ,the "Wal" was used frorm the Netherland Coastguard.I prefer the Dornier Dragonfly!

Чудо техники из 30-х. Увидеть бы такую машину в живую, как звучат двигатели. Те годы действительно были передовыми, сколько всякой интересной техники было построено.

What's interesting is the DO-X is flying the black, white and red German Empire flag that was abolished and replaced with the Weimar Republic flag in 1918.

Heel erg mooi, ook je andere films. Kleuren zijn heel natuurlijk. Vraag: is het veel werk om het in te kleuren?

That was a German plane (Built in the same factory like the Hindenburg Zeppelin)

What a beast! Can you imagine crawling around on the sponsons with your luggage on a bobbing ocean wearing a topcoat and hat to go for a ride on a flying deathtrap? Thank you for posting!
@Rick88888888 Жыл бұрын
If you call something a "deathtrap" then that should be substantiated with facts. However, fact is that this Do-X never had any serious damage or calamities and ended up in a museum where it was destroyed by bombs during WW-II. See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dornier_Do_X

In a nutshell, everything that's not made in USA is just scrap. Some people say that most US-citizens are simple-minded, boastful and nationalistic. But you are a laudable exception. You should be proud of it!

The Dornier DO-X Flying boat / Waterplane D-1929 could not have been very fuel efficient; with powered by twelve 391 kW (524 hp) Siemens-built Bristol Jupiter radial engines in tandem push-pull configuration mountings.

Muinto BELO mesmo, pena que o governo do Brasil na época de Getúlio Vargas não os comprou, tenho certeza que faria um belo trabalho ligando o Sul ao Norte deste país chamado Brasil 🇧🇷

A Flying Brick! No dihedral, no aspect ratio and an air foil that was barely tall enough to fly. 12 propellers and so top heavy it barely got airborne. You got to have brass balls to fly it and seven men to manage all the engine controls. Yikes!

What would they do if there was a hurricane that was approaching? Just strap it down so it doesn’t get damaged? Or a tsunami if it was stationary?
