Deone Walker Areas for Improvement My critiques - Struggles with consistency throughout the game due to conditioning concerns. Improved weight management could help. At times, he appears to conserve energy early in games or fade late when fatigue sets in. - Tends to rise too high out of his stance, leading to a high pad level that makes him vulnerable against offensive linemen who maintain good leverage, particularly against combo blocks and double teams. - Lacks explosiveness off the snap outside of short-yardage situations. - Needs to refine his hand technique as a pass rusher, as his accuracy in this area is below average

I think the first thing to look at is injury history. He reminds me of most of the huge interior guys that have come out of college. They don't typically pan out in the nfl, so he has to be rare at this size. The worst though is if they are always on the trainers table. If he is just mediocre but serviceable, it's not a bad 3rd rd choice. I just don't see interior players of this size being "special" in the pros. There are always exceptions though.

This is going to be the problem with this draft for the Cowboys that have needs on both sides of the ball but this is why I go defense first and definitely DT, S, and DB and LB.

I think the pad level and being tall out of his stance is an issue. It can be fixed but I would prefer someone thats a bit more solid in the second round. I would like to see how he looks when he's double teamed and see how he does. For right now I'll pass on him.
