Everyone looks amazing hitting pads. We will see what if anything he has learned once he actually fights a good opponent. Every fighter no matter how good has ingrained tendencies that once they get in a fight will start to show especially when under duress. I’m ready to see him fight some good names. @Haters Have Opinion Deontay Wilder should have been learned the basic fundamentals of boxing from the beginning. If he had done that, he would have been one of the best fighters in boxing together with guys like Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko, Anthony Joshua and even Tyson Fury. Mark Breland would have took Deontay Wilder to that top level but Deontay Wilder did not listen.

Imo, it's a good start. I like the fact Scott is training Wilder. He isn't my first choice but if Wilder is listening to him, he will improve. I think Wilder desperately needs to work on keeping his back off the ropes because that is where everyone is going to try to put him. I seriously doubt, he will ever have a inside game.

The jab is still a flick, just probing for the right hand. The head movement looks better but he should have looked to make adjustments a few years ago but he didn’t listen. He can try to make adjustments now but he has a lot of bad habits and will he revert back to type when he gets hit and backed up?

Malik Scott was always an excellent gym fighter hence why he was always in demand for sparring and when you listen to him talk about boxing he clearly has an excellent understanding of the sweet science so while his career in the ring might not have been particularly memorable I think he's got the knowledge to make an excellent trainer which can only be a good thing for wilder if he takes on board what is being taught

Wilders biggest issue is his mentality, no amount of pad work will solve that. He just needs to fight Kownacki or Charles Martin. Get a win or two under his belt against guys who can fight back and then hope Aj has dealt with Fury.

I have a terrible feeling we are going to see wilder Stiverne 3 or wilder Arreola 2 instead. The PBC wont test him, then he'll get raped again when he steps up for a belt. It would be poetic justice if he challenges whyte for his interrim belt

He stole a few rounds and it quickly resulted in people questioning whether Klit still had it. Shortly after Ortiz disposed of him effortlessly and that is what resulted in people saying Ortiz was avoided. Now you can conclude as you wish from that, but to say he was nothing shows a serious lack of knowledge of the heavyweight scene. He remained avoided till Wilder fought him.

If you genuinely wanted to learn something, why would you look to the bloke you knocked out in one round. He just wants to look good, and try to stay relevant. Wilder will have a comeback fight against god-knows-who, then he will fight Ruiz for some sort of fake title, then he will retire. He will never make the mistake of fighting anyone decent again.

Deontay has been on one since he lost. But after all those years with Breland, for whatever reason, he never developed slickness or a good ring IQ. So perhaps it was a wise decision to seek a new trainer But the results (if any) I will need to see in the ring not on pads

I disagree.... this is classic Deontay. (1) Site fee for undisputed has been announced for $150M so AJ and Luke have Deontay in their rear view mirror. (2) Mark Breland has a new job with the middleweight Charlo and a chance to rebuild his reputation and credibility. (3) The transformers have sued Deontay for brand-damage by wearing their suit and getting smashed to bits. (...just joking... 🤣🤣... or am I?? 😏) Meanwhile Deontay is trying to stay relevant and insta-famous by posing in his front room with Malik 'Diving' Scott. al haymon is a lawyer and a very powerful person in boxing - why has he not sued or brought this 'proven cheating' to the authorities?? thats right - there is no proof and there was no cheating. why cant u u just admit it - he lost fair and square. his whole team, management, promoter etc agree it was fair.
