Deosai to Shigar Skardu

We arrived at Deosai in dark, thus couldn't enjoy and appreciate the views and camped next to a river. Weather was freezing cold since we drove for quite a few hours we slept well despite the weather. In morning the views were breathtaking, took some photos had breakfast and then on the move towards Skardu. Lets enjoy the road together..

Nostalgia. We were in Deosai in Sep 2017. I drove the exact same route you shared. From BaRRa pani to Skardu. This was my first ever drive on the mountains. Car was friend's Pajero '86. I remember couple of turns and bridges even today. I watched the whole video just to saw those moments again :)

So beautiful a natural sanctuary, i don't know why local and Pakistan govt develop it. I was there in back 2011, crossed whole deosai till Guiltari and Shingo shigr, i am surprised, even a single brick not added for development and infrastructure. Even the same raw track across the sanctuary till the end. Hopeless

Still , can’t understand the laziness of the Pakistani Goverment when it comes to promoting the tourism in North Pakistan .. someone explain what is the motive ? Fear of Evil Eye for instance? I would give up everything and settle in such gorgeous places

Probably many more people would, but what often happens is, that people who are able and motivated, buy properties which then are not available for public to see. It's forbidden to wander on private property. Such places shall remain they are and respected greatly by visitors. Speaking of tourism promotion, there are more and more people doing vlogs about Pakistan so audience gets to see the country. It will only spread more and more as times goes by.

Exactly 🤙, i was there in 2011, did medical camps, crossed whole deosai til Guiltari and Shingo shigr. Can't see even a single brick had added in last 8 years. Bleak picture and hopeless future. This is so beautiful i can't imagine, been there in shigr valley for 6 months. 🙏 This land needs development infrastructure

Deosai is not that far from Skardu just over an one drive from Skardu you will enter Deosai. Getting to other end of Deosai is a long drive due to road conditions. Since Deosai is national park and is preserved so there are no hotels even the road is unpaved, you can pitch your tent which we did. June is ideal time but it will be crowded.

The road you see in the video is of Deosai national park. The national park is a preserved area and construction is prohibited, once you leave the park the road gets better.

Sajid Malik Dear Sajid, I appreciate your concerns, first of all I am not PTI spokesman but would like to clarify few things. This road is through Deosai which is a preserved national park and there is no construction allowed otherwise you would have seen a lot of hotels and restaurants there but there are non apart from few tents. Second thing is that Deosai is part of Gilgit Baltistan and it has nothing to do with Imran Khan.
