Hoi Michael, Alweer een fraai filmpje. Leuk om de take off vanaf hetzelfde vliegveld te zien op dezelfde dag. En goed dat je idd de juiste runway hebt genomen 😉 Die check blijft belangrijk. Voor je het weet start je vanaf de taxibaan. Gebeurde onlangs bijna op Rotterdam AirPort. Fijn dat je weer meer ruimte krijgt om filmpjes te monteren. Ik blijf er keer op keer van genieten. Geven jullie altijd max thrust bij take off? Of alleen bij korte banen zoals op RTM?

Take-off thrust is calculated prior to every take-off according to the length of the rwy, the weather etc. to use the minimum amount of fuel and reduce engine wear. Every so often they do a full thrust take-off though to ensure the engines can deliver the full thrust.

Zoals Lars al aangeeft proberen juist zo min mogelijk met Full thrust weg te gaan. Veel geluid voor omwonenden. Meer slijtage, dus hogere kosten. Voor elke vlucht maken we een performance berekening. Daarin worden onderanderen het actuele gewicht, de baan lengte, de conditie van de baan (droog, nat, sneeuw etc..), het weer (wind, temperatuur, luchtdruk) en verder wordt er naar de omgeving gekeken... Moeten we snel uitklimmen of kunnen we standaard uitklimmen etc... Dus voor elke vlucht op elke luchthaven maken we zo'n berekening.

De baan is Grooved... er zit dus een ribbel in. En dat doen ze omdat ze daar met mindere weersomstandigheden zitten. Je instructrice heeft helemaal gelijk! Je moet dit werk wel doen als je het leuk vindt.... Anders wordt het een hele vervelende job!

Fifty nine years ago I was a young air traffic controller stationed at Keflavik. When things were slow I used to accompany my Icelandic coworkers in the tower on seagull egg hunts in the rocky terrain close to the runways. They were just as good as duck eggs.

Great video as always Michael! Im sat in my room at the NH hotel schiphol as it was my 40th birthday yesterday. My lovely partner booked for us to come here for the weekend so ive spent the day spotting at various points around the airport. Seen a few Transavia 737's, wondering if it was you Michael!? Op 11:17 vlieg je door eerste wolkendek heen en daarna op 11:43 door de volgende...maar dan ziet hij nog steeds wolken erboven. Hij: Dad...how come he just fly thru the clouds and now I can still see clouds? I thought you said if you go above the clouds, there's nothing more and can see the sun or moon...
