My favorite Depeche Mode song along with Enjoy the Silence. I wish that DM still performed People are People.

People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully So we're different colours and we're different creeds And different people have different needs It's obvious you hate me though I've done nothing wrong I've never even met you, so what could I have done I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully And now you're punching and you're kicking and you're shouting at me I'm relying on your common decency So far, it hasn't surfaced but I'm sure it exists It just take a while to travel from your head to your fist I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully People are people, so why should it be You and I should get along so awfully I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand I can't understand What makes a man Hate another man Help me understand

@MsPink68 I have nothing against Andy Fletcher at all, and yes, I am an outsider. My problem with DM is that since the departure of Alan Wilder, they have certainly lost much of their distinctive sound that characterised much of their 80's and early 90's sound. I have been a fan since 1982, and will always buy their music, though I do feel that they are losing their 'sound', that's all.
@lkcgartist13 жыл бұрын
@MsPink68 Actually, you're right. DM wouldn't be DM without 'Fletch'. I do miss Alan Wilder's input very much, and I would love to see him return to the band. Though even without him, they'd never lose my support - if you grew up with them, you never grow out of them. That's the truth about Depeche Mode.

@lkcgartist13 жыл бұрын
@MsPink68 True, though if it had been Andy Fletcher instead of Alan Wilder leaving in '93, they wouldn't have struggled with the awful sound design that has blighted Martin Gore's beautiful songs for the past two decades.

Nice to see David Gahan, back on the rails, after his own personal, Hellish Nightmare! This is one of their classic tracks. Personally, I think they brought a more, "Human Touch", to Kraftwerk's sound.True electronic music legends! Pity Dave had to come from Basildon of all places, On God's green Earth!

@MsPink6813 жыл бұрын
@lkcgartist whatever u say, i will still say what i already said. andy fletcher is an integral member of the group. why don't you ask dave and martin? and stop talking as if you have been a part of their group because you simply are an outsider. your reaction is archival.

theres never-ever been situation: andy goes or alan goes. Just alan didnt fit to the band, thats all. Yes his good musican etc, but he didnt fit to the DM, thats all.
