a recently favorite tactic I've learned is to get 5 Guardian GI's, defend my tanks with them from harriers until they're level 3, and put them in a fortress tank, seriously more effective air defense than 4 patriot missiles, and doubles as a virtual insta tank killer.

We found that Guardian fortresses proved to be surprisingly effective anti-base artillery as well.

The advantage of the battle fortress is in the fact it provides MOBILE protection that can be repaired for free. But yes, sometimes it's better to just deploy some GIs.

The most important variable for bf is their firepower depends on troops promotion, not the bf itself. Meaning an elite bf with basic troops will get destroyed by a basic bf with elite troops.

Normal Tesla troopers are worse than GIs in Battle Fortresses but Elite Tesla Troopers are OP.

This comes down to action economy. While the BF can only attack one target, the GI's can attack several at the same time.

Unexpected if you haven't played a single game online. GI BFs are strong because they have small garrison bonus (range and damage) and can attack while moving. Decent players know not to chase them because a moving GI BF destroys tons of MBTs before dying. If BF moves, these conscripts would get kited to death without even dealing significant damage.
