Deploying to Android with FreePascal and Lazarus

In this video I demonstrate one of several ways to deploy applications to Android devices from the Lazarus IDE, using the LAMW plugin.

Thanks for sharing :) For those trying to do this in Mar-2021, bear in mind that the latest trunk versions of Lazarus and FPC (Mar-02-2021) will give you errors when installing LAMW, for this reason use FP 3.3.1 and Lazarus 2.1.0 explicitly if you want to follow this tutorial as indicated.

Love the videos on Lazarus. Very helpful. Deploying to Android was very interesting and informative, although my main interest, at the moment, is desktop apps. Your recommendations on what tools to use are extremely appreciated, as well as your sharing of troubles and successes in using the different tools. Kudos on the great work!

also it turns out that if you have FPC installed on you system, if you run the command fp, theres a text based IDE/debugger that uses ncurses. you can drag around windoes in your terminal! its actual pretty freaking cool

Just to be clear, the last time I looked at Odysee it was called LBRY, looks like they did some renaming to make LBRY the platform and Odysee the community site. We're talking about the same service? I'd be happy to upload all of my stuff there too.

@@ChapmanWorldOnTube Yeah that's the same service. Odysee doesn't require an install. There just isn't a lot of Pascal stuff on that side yet. Lots of Linux though--I was surprised all of the people I follow on Linux are there. Love your videos! Too bad I didn't find them on youtube earlier. That's another thing. You will probably come up faster in Odysee.

after some experimentation, i found i needed JAVA_HOME to point to C:\lazarus\android\java\jre, , and the PATH env var needed to include C:\lazarus\android\java\jre\bin (and not C:\lazarus\android\java\jdk / C:\lazarus\android\java\jdk\bin as the video states). this is for 2 reasons 1= there are some dlls in the jre/bin path that are needed 2= the cross-compiler build fails unless JAVA_HOME points to the jre path this was using windows 7

It probably would, it's been a fair bit since I uploaded this and so my head is not fully in the detail - but if I recall correctly the OpenJDK was an option, but it had to be a specific version to match the features. It really wouldn't hurt much to try it though, give it a shot :)

I will probably not cover iOS. It is possible with Laz, but likely requires a better Mac than the one I own. That said, I would like to complete the mobile/desktop 5. So maybe, but no commitment yet.

nothing works . its better to play lotto than try to setup lazarus you have more change. thats whay i still using my delphi for anything.
