All us Africans who blame the colonizers for our problems 60years after Independence ,REMEMBER, Hong Kong was a British colony until 1997!!! I truly believe that we West African should have remained under the British until the systems of running an efficient country became a habit for us .Currently we do not know how to run a country . In 2023 majority of Africans outside the capital cities have no roads , no electricity and no running water !
@downtomars6268 Жыл бұрын
Understand your reasoning. But, most states in East Asia have developed without the British. Mainland China, Taiwan developed without the British. The British left Singapore in a state of deadly race riots and ruins until Lee Kuan Yew rebuilt the country from the bottom to a world beater. Africans have a chance to get help from these states, especially with a solid partner like China which has the capacity and has taken the initiative of many new developments in Africa from which the world has taken notice.

Thanks u and enjoy your travels

What I have learnt is that it's not just an African passport thing, but also a black thing, especially in Asia. I have an Australian passport and everytime I land anywhere in Asia, they look at me with a magnifying glass. I remember being in a departure queue at the boarding gate in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - emphasis on departure - where they were checking passports at boarding. 50+ white Australians passed by the officer with no issues. As soon I gave my passport, he looked at me and then looked at the passport again and asked me, "how did you manage to get an Australian passport?" I was pulled to the side and interrogated. I am GIVING you a passport that affords me visa free travel and you're questioning my existence. It's almost like he was suggesting my passport was fake or that maybe I had acquired it by shoddy means. Africans, let's make our continent what it can be. We are not going to go around the world justifying our reason for being anywhere. We are not going to beg. It's a new Africa and we are telling our own story.

My cousin has lived in china for a long time, he went to college in Kenya. I am not blaming the Chinese for being tough on immigration, we have had significant nos of Africans who have committed crimes in china. The Ugandan government officials traveled to china to find out why Ugandans were in Chinese prisons.It turned out Nigerians had bought Ugandan passports.,but they have still caught Ugandans. What is appealing is African governments including Nigeria are still scared to put Chinese to death who have killed Africans.

Yes, with many western passports you don't get problems at immigration in Hong Kong, but ok I'm a Jamaican travelling on a Swedish passport, no problem for me but feel sorry for many decent Africans who are refused entry for the most part. It's true that appearance is one of the things that they look at as well as your accommodation and if your finances for your stay. Things have changed dramatically in many countries post pandemic, so the frequent traveller has to keep up to date with the latest entry requirements of all countries. Some of our people cause all this problems. Back in the year 2000 - 2005, it was very nasty how most West Africans were lying and trading passport. It was the reason Ghana passport holders were reduced from the usual 90 days of stay to 30 day's then again to 15 day's. During those day's ,even as a tourist,it was easy to get china visa through agents in HK and travel with train into shenzen and other part of China. Nothing abnormal happened to her. Asking for return ticket, hotel, purpose are standard immigration questions. I am Asian American and got asked even more invasive and dumber questions by the UK immigration before Brexit. They asked me for business cards, who I was visiting and how I knew them, proof of return flight etc. They treated me like a third world immigrant even though I make $800k USD a year in private equity and have a luxury 1 br apartment in Manhattan. I didn't care really, they're just blue collar government workers, no one important. Don't have to be so sensitive. Have some confidence in yourself.

I like the view from the airport. I remember the steep mountains so close to the airport. It's quite a dramatic view. Hong Kong is a futuristic city. Asia is kicking!!!

metro manila skyline alone in Philippines is 12th most skyscraper city in the world while hong kong is 2nd to Shenzhen which is still part of china in top 20 cities with most skyscrapers in the world only 1 western city which is obviously new york the rest is Asia like 19 out of 20

I don’t like sky scrappers esp for human residence. I pray we don’t get here in Africa. Lots of beautiful cities in the West with no sky scrappers yet developed.

This video reminds me of when I used to travel to Jamaica with my family several times a year. The children loved it. Especially, chasing the baby animal and waking up early to go out with their grandfather to feed the animals. They are all professionals now and give back to Jamaica in many ways. Bless up to you and your family.
