Depotting Anastasia Palettes into Single Shadows | Depotting Makeup

in this video, I showcase how to depot Anastasia Beverly Hills Palettes (in the 14 pan square format). I will also demonstrate how to depot the ABH Shadows without using a z palette depotter. If that's not cool enough, I'll also demonstrate how to turn your eyeshadow palette into a magnetized single shadow holder for those depotted pans!!! This is me too. Not only is it pointless to have cool colors that look bad on me taking up room, but I love a lot of colors that will never work on me and if I have to look at them all the time I will try to make them work and end up having to remove it all and start over with red eyes lol

The z-potter is induction. Which means isn’t targets the metal only. That’s why if something isn’t metal you have to put that mental plate down before placing the palette on it. The stove won’t work the same because it’s not targeting he metal in the pans, it’s warming the bottom of he whole palette

I did some Tarte eye and cheek palettes and it suuuucked! Took way longer than I expected because the plastic melted faster than the industrial strength glue, and there was so much left over on the pans that it took forever to scrub off with acetone. The pans got bent trying to pry them out of a hot ass palette without burning myself and there were some casualties. So yesterday I did a Balm cheek palette using a syringe to squirt acetone behind the pans, it worked pretty well but I felt so skeevy every time I held the syringe 😂

@KendraMorgan I left my Norvina on a heating pad on high heat for about 20 minutes before trying to remove shades, but I did take the back off because I wasn't interested in saving the fuzzy purple packaging. I don't think the extra layer of cardboard would make it impossible to do this way. It might just take extra time and covering with a towel to keep in heat.

❤️I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW HELPFUL THIS IS!!❤️ Sorry for “yelling” 😂 I’m just so happy because I almost decluttered SO many palettes that I wasn’t using enough and my last hope was to depot my fave shades and put them in a large magnetic palette….I almost cried when I tried my hardest to get out pans that are magnetic but stuck (and by “almost” I mean I ugly cried). I didn’t realize that companies like ABH would use magnetic pans AND glue. I thought it was one or the other….but alas, thanks to you I now know: 1) WhyTF I couldn’t get them out (I also hurt my precious orange soda shade…I actually made a loud empathetic shock sound when that happened to you and scared the hell out of my boyfriend hahahahaha he was like “Virginia….again? Over makeup?” To which I shot him my “Ummm YES/DUH” stare) 2) I can realize my dream and make SO MANY SINGLES more accessible (donate the rest) and not feel the guilt about having my beautiful palettes just sitting there, yay! Yes, I figure I paid for that packaging why destroy it. I do like the aesthetics of minimalism when showcasing just one single shadow. It gives back the story line once you can strip away the other shadows from the palette.

@@KendraMorgan I did it!! I had one breakage but it was one I didn’t want anyway, Noir black. 😅. It was my fault though. I put the needle in the pan. My Soft glam was much easier than modern Renaissance. Some in soft glam I didn’t even use heat on. They just pried up. I used a hairdryer on the others. Thank you so much!

Thanks so much for making this video! Super helpful ! I wanted to combine my abh palettes into just the shades I like to use and I was feeling discouraged that it wasn’t possible but YAY it is. Is it possible to just use super glue to put the pans back in the palette ?

Oh you're welcome. Yes a dab of super glue or get a jar of rubber cement. It'll hold those shadows in just like cement but if you should ever shift tastes or change your mind, you can get in with your depotting tool / scissors and wiggle the shadows loose again.

Yes! I hear ya Jas. You can always take a magnet and place it over the pans and feel that magnetic field (or lack thereof in your case) to make sure your efforts aren't for not. But I've done it before too so don't worry

You could still use the magnetic palette holder , but maybe use a 3M glue dot, to keep it in place. Then just peel them off when you're done!
