Personally, my biggest issues with Ambers side of it is her moodswings, expressions that don't feel real and lack of evidence for the serious injuries she claims. Makeup don't heal swelling and cuts, and she never got medical help. Even if I try not to be biased, it's so hard to believe it. And then I can't believe anything else they says either. That's not to say that I believe everything from JDs side, I just don't believe that he was physically abusive.
@leticiavasquez85662 жыл бұрын
As a dv survivor i have been saying this from day one. I had no evidence no photos no witnesses. But it still happened and people believe me that i have told. Though i never went to the police or outed him publicly. So i defo believe we should believe victims even in absemce of so called proof. But when you make it into a court room for a restraining order and you blast it in the news and you have as you say 1000s of photos of broken picture frames and graffitid mirrors and an addict passed out on 100 places and 5 photos of suss bruises where it is possoble youve even edited it yet no photos of the extreme wounds you most definitely would have gotten rings or no rings...i have questions.

Rottenborn wasn’t arguing the facts, at least not in the initial closing statement, he was arguing the law. A subtle distinction, and most lawyers who were watching and commenting on his initial closing statement agreed that he did a very good job arguing the law. Elaine was there to argue the facts. And I heard some analysis basically saying that Ben Chew could have easily objected to so much of Elaine’s closing statement but that attorneys are very sensitive to how offputting that can be for the jury and held back.

It's one of the reasons why I believe she's not just BPD and HPD. Sure, they go through extreme, rapid swings of mood, but their emotions are felt to the core. She, on the other hand, has shallow emotions as if she doesn't completely understand anything beyond feelings of rage, contempt, and self-pity. Plus...whatever pleasure she feels only shows up when she sees the amount of pain she's caused the people around her. I cannot diagnose but jeezus. I have to question if there's more than those 2.
@brookeperezhuston2 жыл бұрын
@@BabyKangaroo279 very true- but a psychopath doesn't actually feel emotions like "normal" humans do...they are usually better at imitating it- like Ted Bundy, but like Joe at Good Lawgic said, he thinks she has pretty girl syndrome. Ppl don't typically challenge pretty girls bc they want their approval so she's never had to really improve her lying skills. For once she was really challenged- with in your face evidence like the tapes, & she was caught at being one of the worst liars anyone has had the privilege to witness! The fact that she's so clueless with how emotions work that she'd be in the middle of writhing around and trying to act like she was hyperventilating and hysterical but an objection would come and she'd just instantly stop dead. Lol. Then carry on with her melodrama as soon as the objection was decided. It was amazing to watch! And I honestly think she just can't accept or believe the jurors or the public didn't find her believable- instead it was all social media. Throughout this trial, JD has reminded me of my Dad. The good, and the ugly side of him. My Dad was a 'lousy drunk' I guess you could say. When he was drunk he would curse and yell in our presence, be rather obnoxious, pee himself, pass out on the floor, he probably even slammed the kitchen cabinets. He certainly broke some dishes while fumbling around trying to make a snack for himself in that state. But never once did he raise a hand to me or my brothers. I have never been afraid of him. Disgusted? Sure. But most of all, especially now that I'm an adult, I feel sorry for him. An outsider could look at my childhood and say that being subject to that from my father was some form of abuse, but I know that it would be a huge leap, and gross exaggeration, to declare myself a victim of abuse and write in a newspaper about it. Everyone's experience is different of course, maybe Amber was afraid of him in that state. But I seriously doubt it. It's pitiful more than anything

I’ve not been a “law nerd”, but rather a mental health professional, “psych nerd” interested in the psychology behind the crimes of Jodi Arias and Chris Watts; criminal cases. I’m not a “star follower”; knew nothing about this case; knew nothing of their relationship, and AH is a complete unknown to me. Given this was a civil trial, with the plaintiff and defendant taking the witness stand, it was interesting to watch the two being questioned, and fascinating to watch AH, clearly exhibiting an Axis II personality disorder. I looked to YT after the Watts case, and have been completely disappointed in what I’ve found.....a “Crama” community, until now. It was wonderful to tune into your channel, w Facts, not Fuckery. Thank you for the professionalism, your brilliant commentary, and breadth of knowledge. What a pleasure to watch you. You deserve the growing subscriber count. Will continue to follow you with interest, and who knows....I may turn into a novice “law nerd”! Enjoy the fruits of your labor!

The whole time these arguments have been going on Johnny has been sitting and rocking back and forth in his chair. At times trying to keep his eyes hidden. I thought the closing arguments for AH was stronger that I thought it would be. But what keeps coming back to me are the recordings of her taunting JD. If you're abused, you do whatever you can to AVOID the explosive outbursts. Am I right?? Plus, didn't they drink/do drugs together. And she asked him to bring a joint with him. Enabling? Or at least not being consistent enough for someone who needs to turn around. (One more thing.) Her personality must be so much like his mom's when he was growing up. That alone would drive him to drugs and alcohol.

To me the audio recordings are the strongest evidence against her. Her defense made some good points and I don't think Johnny is a saint to live with, but the trial hasn't convinced me to overlook her tone and wording in those recordings. I cannot believe she was scared of him for as long as I live. A member of my family was also in an abusive relationship and, while being physically abused, she blew off steam by ranting to uss and calling him names. Doesn't make it right in a healthy relationship, but if you look at them through the lens of her actions, I'd say I understand his texts etc. If I was Vasquez I would have mentioned that instead of saying he uses colorful language, which seems like she's trying to minimize how bad the texts are. But yeah - the recordings remain my biggest proof that she's been lying nonstop.

As Camille names each of the witnesses who testified in his favor or otherwise came forward with their true account of events and I feel like I can see Depp's face, his eyes, showing that he's thinking of each of those people as they're named and I see a sadness there - more than that, though, I feel like I see genuine gratitude towards each of them. Depp is a weirdo with his own problems, but he's also a true creative and treats everyone with dignity in a way I rarely see from a public figure. Greeting and thanking the court staff and officers, looking each of them right in the eye. Even on the last day, he shook the hand of everyone who was involved, even going fairly out of his path in order to do so. And seeing the love he received from people coming out to support him heal him bit by bit was remarkable. Some life returned to his eyes and face after he received that love. I hope he can find some peace in his life and return to creating the legacy he leaves behind as he mentioned.
