If an abused person has no pictures of the abuse is one thing. BUT if the “abused” person has 1000 of pics and NONE of them are on the abuse-something else!

Personally, my biggest issues with Ambers side of it is her moodswings, expressions that don't feel real and lack of evidence for the serious injuries she claims. Makeup don't heal swelling and cuts, and she never got medical help. Even if I try not to be biased, it's so hard to believe it. And then I can't believe anything else they says either. That's not to say that I believe everything from JDs side, I just don't believe that he was physically abusive.

As a dv survivor i have been saying this from day one. I had no evidence no photos no witnesses. But it still happened and people believe me that i have told. Though i never went to the police or outed him publicly. So i defo believe we should believe victims even in absemce of so called proof. But when you make it into a court room for a restraining order and you blast it in the news and you have as you say 1000s of photos of broken picture frames and graffitid mirrors and an addict passed out on 100 places and 5 photos of suss bruises where it is possoble youve even edited it yet no photos of the extreme wounds you most definitely would have gotten rings or no rings...i have questions.

There has been no evidence of sexual abuse presented in court, very little of physcial abuse but there has been plenty of proof showing they both have been abusive against eachother emotinal and verbal (only fanatict fans makes excuses for either side) AH and JD need to take responsibilty for their behvaour against eachother but with their fanatic fans enabling them they probably never will

@NOYB6930

Rottenborn wasn’t arguing the facts, at least not in the initial closing statement, he was arguing the law. A subtle distinction, and most lawyers who were watching and commenting on his initial closing statement agreed that he did a very good job arguing the law. Elaine was there to argue the facts. And I heard some analysis basically saying that Ben Chew could have easily objected to so much of Elaine’s closing statement but that attorneys are very sensitive to how offputting that can be for the jury and held back.

You are correct he is the only one that displayed the effects of DV. When you would hear her yelling and belittling him. His head is down and moving around looking to get out of this uncomfortable position. It's truly sad to see. But Amber shows all signs of the aggressor, not a DV victim. She also said it, " I NEVER ONCE CLAIMED TO BE A VICTIM." Great situational awareness to pick up on Johnny's actions.

Yeah exactly. I now in terms of law, JD has a higher burden of proof. But I think JD's team showed enough evidence for me to check all the boxes and conclude that there is defamation to JD by AH. Rottenborn tried to expand the definition of abuse by including everything possible including verbal and psychological but that's like saying feeling offended when you didn't put the toilet seat down is the same as cutting someone's finger off. Any person with some common sense can tell that's preposterous. But idk the jury needs more time which means they are having trouble getting an unanimous agreement and that's worrying to me. I just hope we get an end to this once and for all and not enable some one like AH again.

Throughout this trial, JD has reminded me of my Dad. The good, and the ugly side of him. My Dad was a 'lousy drunk' I guess you could say. When he was drunk he would curse and yell in our presence, be rather obnoxious, pee himself, pass out on the floor, he probably even slammed the kitchen cabinets. He certainly broke some dishes while fumbling around trying to make a snack for himself in that state. But never once did he raise a hand to me or my brothers. I have never been afraid of him. Disgusted? Sure. But most of all, especially now that I'm an adult, I feel sorry for him. An outsider could look at my childhood and say that being subject to that from my father was some form of abuse, but I know that it would be a huge leap, and gross exaggeration, to declare myself a victim of abuse and write in a newspaper about it. Everyone's experience is different of course, maybe Amber was afraid of him in that state. But I seriously doubt it. It's pitiful more than anything

You should not have tis pictures as a child. There is a difference here. I feel that Amber with her provocative behaviour and she was not a weak person at all, was bringing out in Johnny a bad behaviour. Not abusive towards her but anger, frustration. She was pushing him too much. And the addicted person go deeper with her addictions when they do not feel good. He married too quickly a woman, he was in love with and finally she was an obnoxious person, like how we see her and dislike her. I think she generally does not like men and she uses them.

Well, Rottenborn's notes have proven, imho: their closing arguments have been messed up by their own client: AH & her last minute additions. I've heard some think that the part where Rottenborn said and I am paraphrasing, that no matter how many photos and evidence it's still not enough is affecting them to sway back to supporting AH. I have been watching you throughout the last week of the trial and I really appreciate not only your breakdowns and reactions of the court coverage but just the atmosphere that your chat community brings. Despite this being a very serious trial I have loved every moment of your coverage. Your a rockstar in the lawtube community.

I thought the closing arguments for AH was stronger that I thought it would be. But what keeps coming back to me are the recordings of her taunting JD. If you're abused, you do whatever you can to AVOID the explosive outbursts. Am I right?? Plus, didn't they drink/do drugs together. And she asked him to bring a joint with him. Enabling? Or at least not being consistent enough for someone who needs to turn around. (One more thing.) Her personality must be so much like his mom's when he was growing up. That alone would drive him to drugs and alcohol.

She did nothing to help Johnny get sober she did drugs the whole time she was with him. I’m pretty sure she did drugs at either their wedding or bachelorette party?? I can’t remember

To me the audio recordings are the strongest evidence against her. Her defense made some good points and I don't think Johnny is a saint to live with, but the trial hasn't convinced me to overlook her tone and wording in those recordings. I cannot believe she was scared of him for as long as I live. A member of my family was also in an abusive relationship and, while being physically abused, she blew off steam by ranting to uss and calling him names. Doesn't make it right in a healthy relationship, but if you look at them through the lens of her actions, I'd say I understand his texts etc. If I was Vasquez I would have mentioned that instead of saying he uses colorful language, which seems like she's trying to minimize how bad the texts are. But yeah - the recordings remain my biggest proof that she's been lying nonstop.

@@madeniquevanwyk This!! I'm not going to pretend what Johnny Depp texted wasn't vile, but in the context of him as the victim, it makes sense to me. I've seen plenty of victims write awful things they've wanted to do to their abuser even years after they've escaped the abuse. The idea of venting to a friend this way is not that far fetched.

Brought back to my memory by "Psychology in Seattle," when he is in shock and completely debilitated, lying on the floor from losing part off his finger, what does she do? She stubs a cigarette out in his check. Instead of helping him, she uses his defenseless, helpless, completely vulnerable state as an opportunity to abuse him more. I wish that had been brought out more. Also, she later pretends HE put a cigarette out on HER face, but he has a wound, seen by a physician. She does not.

I didn’t even realise how messed up it was until Dr Honda pointed it out!! Do you remember if either of them had done mdma that night? Or just amber saying he did ? You can barely feel negative emotions on it! If he did any that night I can’t even imagine the shock with experiencing that and not being able to feel hurt :/ or worse if she had, being capable of that level of violence while ‘happy’

As Camille names each of the witnesses who testified in his favor or otherwise came forward with their true account of events and I feel like I can see Depp's face, his eyes, showing that he's thinking of each of those people as they're named and I see a sadness there - more than that, though, I feel like I see genuine gratitude towards each of them. Depp is a weirdo with his own problems, but he's also a true creative and treats everyone with dignity in a way I rarely see from a public figure. Greeting and thanking the court staff and officers, looking each of them right in the eye. Even on the last day, he shook the hand of everyone who was involved, even going fairly out of his path in order to do so. And seeing the love he received from people coming out to support him heal him bit by bit was remarkable. Some life returned to his eyes and face after he received that love. I hope he can find some peace in his life and return to creating the legacy he leaves behind as he mentioned.
