I think one of the smartest things mr. Depp’s team did was to have this trial televised. I think he would’ve won anyway because the jury did their job, but the greater world would have still considered her a victim. Thru the years we’ve all heard about his drinking and drug use. He’s always been very honest about that. As a woman survivor of abuse I tend to be on the side of women. Because she had been accusing him and he had not spoken up I assumed that there was some truth to her tales of woe. So I had no interest in the Amber and Johnny show until I hurt myself and ended up in bed. Boredom drove me to check it out. The minute I heard that “he” owned five penthouses and “her family and friends” were living “rent-free” in them my ears perked up! I thought, “something is very wrong here, abusers get rid of friends and family!” At that point, just like so many other domestic violence survivors, I was “very interested” in that trial. It did not take long before I realized Mr. Depp was the “abused” and not the “abuser”. How dare women and women’s movements assume that “only women” can be hurt and that “only women” have the right to speak out about domestic violence? Do we not have sons as well as daughters? Men should be afforded as much respect as women for coming forward when abused. We shouldn’t expect them to just take it on the chin and have their lives, finances, and jobs destroyed because of an abusive and vindictive woman. No more than a woman should be destroyed because of a vindictive or abusive man.

From a 15-year veteran journalist who ran newsrooms and won awards for my writing... The teasers were meant to portray Guthrie as a fearless badass; to assuage and attract Johnny fans to watch the extended version. The extended version was meant to paint Amber as a sympathetic but flawed human being and Johnny as a suave and debonair celebrity who got away with abuse. The media routinely manipulates the public like this. That's why people watch folks like Emily D. Baker and not mainstream news.

Then there's her detractors / anyone that questions or doesn't support her, who she labels as "rando's", "bots", "deppford wives", "incels", & "super-fans". Yes Amber, we know that you are human. So is Casey Anthony. She is beyond hypocritical. She opens the interview insisting that she is not vindictive, which, I'm not even going to touch on - But then she goes on to say that she does not care how anyone perceives her, then proceeds to make requests on how she'd like to be viewed. So now i dont watch mainstream news anymore (the one i saw was ABC evening news. Which i assumed was harmless. ) Its just so corrupted. I actually thought 60 minutes was above it all until i saw them do a hit piece on a politican, where again i already knew the full story and new they had edited heavily to misrepresent him and edit him to look corrupt. They knew. The running theory is, in the contract between NBC and AH there was some sort of stipulation about AHs team having final say in the "hour long interview" or "Final copy before airing" or whatever it was labeled as. But, forgot to include anything about the teaser clips, so NBC released the good shit in the clips knowing they legally could. However it can be overcome. She could get the right therapy or therapist. She could see that she has done wrong, and as she hurts herself, she hurts others. But if she wants to live in denial, she will continue to have many problems. She won't get roles as an actress. But she will act the rest of her life away. He told everyone in prison; from a therapist to the guards and prisoners, that he would kill a woman and then said (and made drawings of) something I wish I didn't learn, bc I can't forget it. It turned out that he got pretty close with the details. However, anyone who didn't know of all that information, but saw Making Of A Murderer, would be inclined to believe he was innocent. Yes, she insisted on staying "he needs me, if I go it will all be over..." Did she mean the fairytale, the free ride, someone taking her beatings? She fought for the wedding she said in another tape. It rather makes you wonder. If he was beating her before, to fight for a wedding, when she was already creating a dossier, makes a calculated scenario FAR more likely to me. That way she could divorce well right? She'd always had the resources to leave. Not like most victims who either lack resources or are terrified into staying. I really have a hard time believing she stayed out of love. It just doesn't ring true if her claims of abuse are true. If they are not true, the calculation is even more likely. He said he was done, she gathered her arsenal, tried the dvro and then tried to reconcile. Failing at that she USED that arsenal. When all you want it OUT you will chew off your own arm or leg, whatever it takes. You go. No need for the rest of all this. As to "lending" a voice to the cultural conversation going on at the time, that could have been accomplished as an ally without her claiming a darn thing. Simply use the platform of the star status. Her poking at him with these interviews and not letting him move on is the same thing we heard in those recordings through out their realationship. She will not let anyone else have the last word. I think her separating herself from victims and DV survivors is really telling. It's also interesting to me that she seems so angry when talking about victims and survivors. But she was angry this whole interview and I don't even think she can see how that comes through. If I only saw this interview, I would have a lot of questions bc she comes off SO aggressively and like she's trying to bait him to respond. And it's just weird.

Emily, about NBC editing the video: I was in a group of women "60 Minutes" interviewed in 1968, which I think was its first year. Mike Wallace told me to look him up if I ever wanted a job. We had a watch party at the home of one of the professors who had helped assemble the group. When our 15 minutes of fame aired, we were livid about the editing and the "spin" CBS gave the story, and I renounced all ambition of working in The Fourth Estate. When I thought about it, we'd been doing the same thing when I worked on my high school paper for three years. The story changes every time it changes hands. When the headline editor tries to summarize the story and hook readers in two column inches of 24 point type, spin happens. I've been involved in a couple dozen events reported by media, and never once seen one I consider reported accurately. These days I claim that I read only fiction.

Yes to all of this! It's such a good point that summarizing stories inevitably alters them. And even journalists with the highest integrity have biases they're unaware of. That's the human condition. - What really angers me is careless or willfull deception by the media because we--voters and politicians alike--rely on information from the fourth estate to make decisions that affect real people's lives. Similar to your story, I know a professor who was furious recounting how he was misquoted in the media in the 1980s. His research findings were directly relevant to policy decisions being argued about and voted on at the time. I also knew a military veteran who told what I believe was a credible story about being a real-time witness to an incident in the Vietnam War that was pivotal in shaping public sentiment and policy. It was only after he returned home that he learned it had been completely misrepresented in the media. Presumably the fake story had been fed to them by the military, which illustrates why it's important to also remember how HEROIC journalists can be. For example, the number of journalists who've died already in Ukraine alone is staggering.

As a reality TV show story producer I can confirm ‘frankenbites’ happen allllll the time, mostly for ‘getting to the point’ succinctly, or cutting the segment to a specific time for broadcast. However, there’s a moral and ethical obligation to not change the context or meaning of what someone’s opinion is. We go through a series of Legal Audits for this purpose, to make sure the production company is not liable. And as for a news piece, cutting a previously released tease even shorter doesn’t make sense to me. If it’s a time issue, you would lift an entire section, not parts of a section. Cutting mid-sentence, and changing the implication of that sentence simply isn’t done… unless you’ve been instructed to. In my opinion, this smacks of legal intervention. And I’m not talking about Depp’s or NBC’s legal teams!

I was thinking the same thing...she "perjured" herself again I'm this interview, and made herself look worse and just reiterated what the jury said about her..."not believable"...the first thing I thought after seeing those teaser clips was where in the hell us her law&PR teams? Really, they are being "paid" to protect her(but they might have realized it is a losing battle and their not going to get paid either, so they just let her go with it...) but they didn't stop these clips? That is why I think the clips were different from the final Dateline product that was aired. Plus, I am positive that NBC's Lawyers had a hey day with her interview as well since she almost verbatim said the exact words that got her into the defamation trial in the first place and the lawyers were afraid of legal repercussions. So, it was more than likely both legal teams telling them to take out certain scenes...and also some of the things could have been to cut down on time for airing...like some of Savannah's questions were exactly what Ms Vasquez asked AH under oath, and the answer was the same, so for that, I am sure it was edited since we've all "heard" that before... She is exactly like certain people I know that are abusers who manipulate, lie, gaslighting anyone and everyone who can expose them, and puts out a narrative they want you to believe because they have gotten away with it for so long because they have brainwashed those that are closest to them into believing the things they say is true...I believe Dr. Shannon got it right on the stand with the Histrionics & Borderline personality disorders, and probably would have come up more diagnoses for her given she had a little more time with her...I wish people would stop giving her a platform to continue on with this nonsense, but I am glad there are still people out there calling her out for the lies and manipulations she is trying to continue to bully JD with...GBY

I think she witnessed and was deeply traumatized by abuse at some point in her life, probably parents, and you can see the weird codependency in Whitney and their relationship as well. I think it damaged her to the point of personality disorder and she copes by hurting others, especially men. I think she is definitely a classic cluster b personality and she will never be reasonable. She won't accept responsibility and therapy would ineffective. That doesn't make her insane or not responsible. She definitely premeditated and planned and executed every step of this and continues to. She will continue to destroy lives, including her own. Everyone needs to give her wide berth and wait for the inevitable ugly end.

There are a lot of people who do recover from a personality disorder, myself included. It does require getting very introspective and becoming extremely aware, which is unlikely for Amber Heard to do based on her media tour since the trial ended.
@MissChievousRN2 жыл бұрын
@@Kalaydascope Well, it's unlikely due to her narcissism and her refusal to take responsibility. "In recovery" as an ongoing self correction process is probably more accurate terminology.

I was never a KZbin viewer, prior to the Depp case. I found you while looking for coverage. I watched you throughout the trial. You provided amazing coverage and commentary. My wife and I watched this trial with no preconceptions, and zero allegiance to either party. We listened intently to everything JD said, and considered his witnesses. When the cases reversed, my wife and I were very eager to hear 'her side'. We, both of us, also observed that every "social media" we were aware of were also - at that moment in time - pretty fairly balanced, waiting objectively to hear AH's side of the events. The various hosts of numerous social media - at the moment when the cases were reversed - were pretty objectively waiting to hear what AH had to say. I come from a family that has a lot of problems too numerous to mention. Within minutes - mere minutes - I did not believe what AH was saying. Her words, her phrasing, her expression(s) were almost exactly how members of my family talk and behave when they try to deflect their very bad behavior away from them and onto someone else. Over time, perhaps within a day or two, my wife and I observed that the various hosts of social media sites that were watching this 'second' trial were also coming to the same conclusion. Within a few brief days it became apparent that not only us, my wife and myself, but everyone else did not believe anything Amber was saying. I wondered, based on my own family experience, if others would come to the same conclusion as myself. Within a few short days it became clear that no one believed AH. It would appear, based on the interview GMA had with that one juror, that the jury also came to this same conclusion. I have seen what alcoholism and aging can do to a person, even someone who is attractive as a young adult. Soon, too soon, the excessive alcohol consumption AH has been witnessed partaking will affect her looks. She will age rapidly. If her current misfortune continues AH may very soon not have any money to pay anyone. This would include those she is currently hiring to investigate and possibly bring charges against those who host social media. AH may very soon be forced to just simply go out and get a job. A job that offers a regular weekly salary for a 40-hour week. Even then AH may still be involved in law suits, from those who are seeking payment for services they rendering on her behalf right now.

@@kayann100 I "feel" AH does still have some of that money. But I also think about those who win a huge amount of Lotto money, and in less than two years are more broke than before they bought the winning ticket. Jay Leno once said on the Tonight Show, "Giving dumb people more money doesn't make them less dumb." Also, based on how AH actually handled the 7 mil - stating that she had already given it away, when she really hadn't on her own given any of it away - I "feel" AH does not want to let go of any of that money. Did you see the video of when AH and her sister were driving away after the divorce settlement and they were both dancing and singing and laughing in their vehicle? AH really really liked receiving all of that money.

@@MrModel--CAPTURED-ON-FILM I made a similar comment in a thread on a another video. She won the jackpot and probably "spread the cash" to her friends. Hey Amber! We're your friends . . . can we have some of your divorce money? Sure! A friend in need is a friend in deed. . . . and then more and more friends come out of the woodwork, wanting a share of the booty, wanting to be validated as friends. If you're not a true friend, you don't get any money. Everyone she knows, or knows her, wants to think they are a true friend. Amber is such a good girl! She's so generous! Everyone loves Amber! Now let's all ask her to share the money, share the good-will!

Probably right about that seeing as we find it hard to believe that the DV and SV happened.

Probably because it's a perfect example of her twisted view of this whole thing. She attributes these feelings of "less than human" to people's opinion that she is a deeply flawed and troubled human. Dr Curry's testimony wasn't dehumanizing. Humiliating for her, sure, but if anything it actually humanized her. It provided an explanation for her jarring behavior - 2 personality disorder diagnoses. Personality disorders are hard to treat (and frankly hard to live with) but through therapy people with personality disorders can learn how to cope with things like dear of abandonment, identify triggers, and minimize and mitigate things like emotional outbursts due to overwhelming feelings of abandonment. It's a lot of work and it takes a lot of introspection and self-reflection and it's a long learning experience but ultimately it's a journey towards personal growth. And the fact that she's denying all of that and still re-stating all her talking points makes me think that she's learned nothing, she wants to learn nothing, she's stubborn and self righteous. And that's frustrating for me, having BPD myself, because I feel the only "setback" here is not for women but for people with personality disorders. PDs already have a lot of stigma associated with them because they're even harder to treat than clinical depression, anxiety or ADHD for example (and those are already hard to treat). And now that stigma is even worse because millions of people heard Dr Curry's conclusions, and then heard audio of Amber cackling, taunting JD, calling him names, picking fights, berating him for walking away from a fight, and then breaking down in hysteria when he wants to be apart for a few hours. Followed by these interviews that make it seem like she'll never change. If she wants a cause, instead of "being a voice for victims of DV" she could lay low for a few years and come back and tell us all about her personal growth journey as a person with borderline PD, and lessons that she learned about how to overcome the difficulties of that.

@@k-isfor-kristina This, this, this! I don’t have a PD myself but I have friends who do and have had others in the past. I agree that knowing people around me who are behaving badly have a reason to behave that way that also means they have a way to learn better definitely humanizes them to me and helps me have more compassion for them. Most of the people I know with PDs would be more vulnerable to being abused than to abusing someone else. Amber’s actions mean that so many people with personality disorders won’t be believed when they genuinely need help, support, and protection.
