I don't think it has anything to do with the ACC. Duke only has 2 P4 wins: an OT win over Northwestern (who isn't very good) and a 1 point win over UNC (who definitely isn't very good). If they keep winning, they'll get in there! Sidenote: UNC and Duke aren't considered to be good teams but they do both have wins over B10 teams. Good for them for handling their business in those games! But UNC....that loss to James Madison was unforgiveable!

Getting rid of high seed births in the playoffs for other conference champions is unfounded. The current rankings rely heavily on the assumption that SEC top teams are better than B12 top teams. Take the group of B12 teams that includes Utah, Arizona, Kansas State, BYU, Oklahoma State, and Iowa State. None of these teams have any losses to teams outside this group. There is no on-field evidence they aren’t the best 6 teams in college football right now. However, a similar group of SEC teams has been anointed as the top teams. When those SEC teams lose against each other (Alabama vs Georgia) you call it a “quality loss.” When Utah loses to Arizona or Kansas State loses to BYU, you use it as evidence that the B12 isn’t a good conference. It’s an unfalsifiable, self fulfilling prophecy.The playoff system was created to resolve this situation by allowing the best in each conference to face off. If you undermine that system by giving one conference an advantage in the playoff, the system loses the legitimacy it worked so hard to create.

How did the refs "RIG" the game for Miami? They should have NEVER called it a touchdown, but even if it's wrongly called a touchdown and it's evident that it wasn't because there was never possession of the ball (incomplete pass) overturning a wrongful call is the right thing to do. The officiating was awfu, and Miami's performance was bad, but to say it was rigged for Miami is ridiculous.

It wasn't till after the Miami player is running with the ball, the lights are flashing in the stadium, and the crowd is cheering that the refs called it a touch down. If anything calling that play a touchdown in favor of VT shows the continued, ongoing, and consistent ridiculous calls that are made by ACC officials year after year against Miami. We all saw the replay from multiple angles and it's clearly evident that it was an incomplete pass. They finally made the right call.

This is the new college football. It will be fun this year but eventually everyone will realize that the sex is bar far the best conference.
