It's amazing how much of the bullying is not just a desire for control and conformity, but also thinly veiled jealousy of successful and talented people. Lil Ragamuffin's story in particular, I hadn't realized that it had started back before woke entered the picture. Everyone on this panel is strong, creative, and a great role model for anyone trying to make good things in this hostile culture

I do believe most of these pile on events start with jealousy and envy. They need to justify their horrible emotions with other outrage, and that's what creates the cancelling attempt. ...and it's also a control move to gain influence and credibility. Kill the king and take the crown mentality.

It is difficult to face down a bully. But the alternative is being endlessly bullied. “I will not be your victim!” is not what the woke crowd wants to hear. But shout it from the rooftops. It will dissolve their self declared power. This is true at a person to person level all the way up, as we are seeing in Canada at present, to the citizen to government level.

Please do a debrief of the Wool & Folk 23 festival. I am glabbergasted listening these people - the infighting, complaining, crying. I vended at craft fairs for 30 years- some were good, some were bad, some were just ok. Weather happened at times- wind, rain, no sales. I can’t stop watching these trainwrecks!

The points made around the 37 min mark remind me of Karl Popper's Paradox of Tolerance. A tolerant society must reserve the right to be intolerant against intolerant forces or else it will succumb to those intolerant forces. If a group is unwilling to use rational argumentation or engage in civil public discourse, they should not be tolerated. In the west, we've witnessed institution after institution succumb to what is actually a relatively small group of fringe activists because those institutions tolerated their nonsense for fear of being labeled racist, sexist, homophobic, or transphobic.

Interesting episode. I know "post and ghost" sounds good because it rhymes but I guess if a person doesn't want any interaction or response then it doesn't make sense to post (and I also agree trolls don't deserve responses). I liked what Keri said related to this, to not engage with people who arent critiquing in good faith.

Consider that the cancel culture is a money power grab whereby the mediocre are usurping the amazingly talented. For example, Karen Templar is heads and shoulders above ANY bag maker. She was forced out of business and others are now selling her bag using lower quality materials. Attacking the talented (who are usually sensitive, which is a trait of the talented) destroys excellence of form and causes stagnation within the creative community. The cry bullies just aren't that talented but want the revenue of the talented.

The world should be grateful for generous creativity, but some people just can't be happy and desperately seek out satisfaction (second best) by seeing others lose what's theirs.
