We also draft 3.5 feet and skinny water is a bit nerve wracking for sure, That was a gorgeous sun set for sure. Thanks for taking the time to make and edit these videos.

@Oh Buoy! Hi there…. Thank you for this video that addressed our concern of crossing Steamboat Channel…. We noticed that the depth appeared to go to 0 at one point. Can you shed anymore light on the depth between day beacons 88-90? Our boat drafts 2.5 feet. Also, was this crossing recent?
@ohbuoy45703 жыл бұрын
This was in late Feb or early March. Our depth sounder will sometimes stop working below 5 feet. We draw 3.5 feet and made it ok, but it was tight.

We love the Keys we stay at marathon nearly every year

The big thing in the Keys, not only does it get shallow, there are a lot of rock formations that come up from the bottom, reducing the effective depth, and of course, you don't want to bang into any rocks.

Then you win the “rock award”!

Cool video! I bet you got nervous when the depth went zero in that channel! Beautiful sunset. Do you ever fish off the boat?

If that's a Manson Boss anchor you have, any comments on it? I just bought one.

It has worked very well for us. The only time we have had an issue is in soft, soupy mud.

Great video, do you have auto pilot on your boat?
@ohbuoy45703 жыл бұрын
Yes, we do have autopilot.

Hi! What's your solar set up? Looks like you are mostly trying to keep your batteries topped off.
@ohbuoy45703 жыл бұрын
We have solar panels by Renogy, but would not recommend based on customer service. They are 100w for bow thruster and windlass batteries and 200w for main battery bank. Batteries are 4 6v golf cart batteries.
