Despite showing up in Season 3, Depth Charge was such a badass character, and despite being a gruffy character due to Protoform X/Rampage destroying his colony, he has some soft sides to him, even IF they were a bit breif and he convently shows up because Rampage was there. But at least he avenged his colony in the end...even if it meant losing his own life in the process

The voice actor for Depth Charge continued to voice characters in the TF franchise. Specifically, he voiced Blitzwing in Bumblebee.

Remember how much damage rampage’s missiles did to the maximal base? Here depth charge took multiple missiles and was still standing. Shows how tough he really is.

Parroting this from a comment on some other video, but an interesting thing to consider is maybe Rampage ultimately won his battle against Depthcharge...by the end of the series, Depthcharge was starting to endear himself to the rest of the Maximals, and even put other things above his mission to eliminate Protoform X. However, in his final moment, Depthcharge threw away all the new connections he made to kill Rampage, and killing himself in turn. So ultimately, Rampage enjoyed the satisfaction of being freed from his enslavement to Megatron, seeing his rival kill himself, and knowing the rest of the Maximals will be in pain after seeing their new friend taken away. But regardless if anyone agrees with this interpretation, being able to read a little genuine pathos from one character's story arc is further proof that Beast Wars will always be GOATed in the Transformers canon 🐟

Depth charge has to be one of my favorite characters in transformers. For what little we get to learn about him and the amount of screentime he gets hes insanely interesting to think about. he basically doesn’t have a backstory outside of the introduction of his link to rampage, but there’s hints of what he was like in the past in primal’s dialogue.

Depthcharge died with honor, he will be remember and missed. I just wish he could stay a little longer but sadly he died doing his mission. Stoping X and Try to stop omega megatron or whatever you want to call him. The Nemesis was destroyed but we lost soldiers in the war. Those who protect the past, the present and the future will rest in peace, at last.

Despite only showing up at the very last season, Depth Charge really did leave his mark on the series. While Season 3 is probably the weakest season of the series, the scenes with Depth Charge were definitely the highlights. When he showed up he didn’t really care about the Maximal-Predacon war, and was only there so he could finish his fight with Rampage/Protoform X. For only having a short time on the show, we got to know a lot about him, plus more about Rampage, with the rivalry the two have. Plus his dynamic with characters such as Rattrap, albeit a bit short lived, was very reminiscent of Rattrap’s dynamic with Dinobot. So yeah I would Depth Charge is the best character right up there with Dinobot.
