President Ruto's government MUST emulate Kibaki and NOT factor western donors' contributions in their government plans. The Kenyatta regime made a catastrophic mistake by inviting Israelis to advice on Galana Kulalu drip irrigation. When they Israelis arrived, they changed from drip irrigation to the wasteful central pivot irrigation system, and suddenly the Tana river waters were not enough. It was the Jedi wave of the hand. To this day the project has not recovered. If the Ruto government avoids western donors and their governments' saboteurs they can make Galana Kulalu a success.

Moral behaviour vetting is key to having a government that is accountable to the people. Unfortunately most of our people on the continent have been denied such practice. Being voted for into whatever government office without moral Vetting is wrong practice. To this Professor Lumumba says that is how we elect thieves into office and later we cry - and he is correct. Vetting must PRECEED any elections being held. The independent elections commission's duty starts well before just election day. Vetting post elections is not good practice and most of the time our judiciary systems are compromised. Already having a controversial election result is not a good start. Being in a position of power does not make one a credible office bearer. What it takes to be an upright leader in a democratic society is CHARACTER and nothing else. No matter how much one can be defensive, but without character, the governed people will continue to suffer. God is watching and when God cooks there is no smoke.
